They Said This Was Just a Farm Management Game

Yan Qi always thought his life had gone pretty smoothly, until he turned twenty-two. That's when his family's hereditary mental illness caught up with him, and he began seeing "another world."

On his doctor's advice, he decided to recuperate at the farm his family had invested in overseas.

Unfortunately, his plane had an accident. He was pulled into a game.

Unfortunately, it was a farming and management game. He started out owing a hundred thousand, and to go home, he'd have to pay back ten billion.

Yan Qi: ...

So much for recuperating. He'd better roll up his sleeves and get to work. At least, as the farm owner, he could hire people in town.

But for some reason, the farmers who came to work on his farm always said they'd recently begun hearing things: the faint sound of bones being gnawed.

The town hunter told the townspeople not to trust him, claiming that the farm's forest was full of monsters he had raised.

The little black cat he'd brought home could eat every rat in the granary. Sometimes Yan Qi thought it might have more than four legs and two eyes.

[As long as it doesn't interfere with work, it's fine. Old farms always have their peculiarities. Look, you've been making a lot of money lately.]

A black humanoid figure leaned over beside Yan Qi and laughed as it coaxed him. As it spoke, two sharp fangs, like those of a poisonous snake, flickered in its mouth.

Yan Qi glanced sideways. "And these peculiarities you mentioned include not talking to birds, not looking directly at the night sky, not eating fish from the creek, and preferably not going outside when it rains, along with..."

He unrolled a scroll of sheepskin. It rolled open with a clatter, revealing densely packed lines of tiny writing.

"...more than a thousand rules? Is there something wrong with this game?"

The thing that called itself the System replied unhurriedly, [You're overthinking it. This is just a farm management game. Please enjoy your game to the fullest.]
