The Substitute

A cool, beautiful bottom with exceptional professional skills but a hopeless romantic x a cheerful, sunny, puppy-like android top

Six years ago, the Capital Star Court found Ji Shiming guilty of stealing trade secrets and sentenced him to exile.

The man who had stolen his research sat in the gallery, calm and composed, wearing a new engagement ring on his left hand.

He was Xiao Zhuchuan, Ji Shiming's student, partner, and the man who had once promised to spend his life with him. He was also an illegitimate son who had climbed to the top on Ji Shiming's back, an ambitious schemer who had kept his plans quiet.

As the bailiffs led Ji Shiming away, he turned his head and looked at Xiao Zhuchuan. He wanted to know if Xiao Zhuchuan felt even a little remorse for the more than ten years they'd spent together.

Xiao Zhuchuan looked back at him without flinching, a smile in his eyes.

He didn't regret it at all. It was just a shame that he'd probably never find anyone else as useful as Ji Shiming.

Six years later, Ji Shiming still dreamed of the day he was convicted. But whenever he jolted awake from the nightmare, "Xiao Zhuchuan" would be holding him in his arms.

His lover, almost unchanged, looked at him with concern, unable to understand what he could have dreamed about to leave him so frightened.

Their life together on a distant star was supposed to be so peaceful and happy.
