Here's the thing: I heard the new game Another World has a complete worldbuilding, no reused NPC models, an incredible degree of freedom, and a customizable main storyline, so I bought it on a whim.
I climbed into the gaming pod, excited to pursue a career storyline and become a success in the game. But I got distracted by an NPC's stunningly detailed model, and by the time I snapped out of it, I'd already selected romance as my main storyline.
The world felt so real that it scared me at first. But after reloading my save and confirming that the exit button didn't cost me anything over and over, I gradually let myself go wild.
On my first playthrough, I desperately pursued the Gotham sweetheart whose character model alone had kicked me straight into the romance route.
I did absolutely everything to win him over. Players can become the Fourth Disaster with no limits, or reload a save just to see an NPC smile.

But I never expected that, while desperately investigating the identity of Batman, whom my Gotham sweetheart hated most, I'd start listing the criteria for Batman's true identity in front of him and realize that the man standing before me met every single one.
Me: Too scared to look up at him.
Unfortunately, not long after, I got stuck in an unwinnable situation because there was only one save slot. Game over.
On my second playthrough, I hit the jackpot and rolled a maxed-out family background. Then I discovered I'd become the adopted younger sister of my target from the previous playthrough.
Me: Fine. A family route with a handsome guy isn't so bad either.
-
It wasn't until I was in my twenties that I realized my brother wouldn't become Batman in this playthrough. I stared at my handsome, dashing CEO brother for a while, and he gave me a puzzled look.
Without Batman, Gotham was even more chaotic than on my previous playthrough. I had no choice but to step in myself, using what I'd learned last time to take down Gotham boss after boss, occasionally teaming up with heroes from other cities.
-
Just as I was itching to find another handsome NPC to romance, I discovered that my various actions had already maxed out the affection meter of a certain Wayne CEO. But the System never told me I'd entered his personal route.
Me: ...
In the end, because we were siblings, the game forced a tragic ending on me, giving me a bad ending.
Me: ***
On my third playthrough, I learned my lesson and decided to leave the city and pursue a romance route somewhere else.
Instead, I ran into even more bizarre characters: a pilot boyfriend who regularly vanished for months, a tiny flying hero who seemed like a different person after his uniform turned white, and a blind lawyer who looked exactly like my first-playthrough target and my second-playthrough brother...
Me: I thought you said there were no reused models.
On my Nth playthrough, after wandering around elsewhere, I still returned to Gotham. When I saw a dark figure atop a building, I ran over happily, only to find an owl, not a bat.
Me: Who are you?
-
After finishing that playthrough, I suddenly felt that maybe I wasn't cut out for romance routes, and resolved to pursue a career storyline instead.
While I was debating whether to become a supervillain or a superhero, an owl and a bat suddenly landed outside my window and accurately called me by the names I'd used in previous playthroughs.
Me, eyes wide with shock: Nobody told me this game had meta elements too!

P.S.:
※ OOC warning.
※ The heroine isn't exactly the Fourth Disaster, but she doesn't behave herself in the game either.
※ The heroine treats her first N playthroughs as just playing a game. She does have genuine feelings, but not many.
※ The heroine holds grudges against NPCs whose models she doesn't like. There will be scenes where she angrily kills an NPC, then reloads and acts as if nothing happened. She's not very nice to certain supervillains.
※ A love rivalry is planned for the middle and later stages.
※ The heroine is not blood-related to anyone in the supporting-character list.
※ The pairing hasn't been decided. It will probably be one of the characters in the supporting cast. No betting on the love interest; we'll see how things develop. I'll announce it once it's settled, and the story will end with one couple.
Theme: Searching for truth in a false world.
