An innocent, kindhearted orphan girl × the aloof young general Su
Shen Yunling died of cancer.
She was an orphan who grew up in an orphanage. Before she died, she had a dream: after she died, she opened her eyes and found herself in ancient times, facing a boy who looked at her quietly with an indifferent expression. "Who are you?"
The boy asked without expression. She answered timidly, "...My name is Shen Yunling."
Later, her dream came true. He took her back to his residence. He bought her pretty clothes and jewelry, treated her well, and gave her the chance to learn to read and write...
She didn't know what it meant to like someone or to love someone. She only knew that she wanted to be with him forever.
Later, she gathered her courage, held out an embroidered ball she'd made, and said to him, "Su Yun, will you like me? I want to marry you."
But the boy only replied calmly, "I won't marry you."
The moment he rejected her, he regretted it. He wanted to tell her that he liked her too, so much that she was everything to him.
So he did everything he could to persuade her to have a fake wedding with him. Once they were married, they could slowly grow closer.
He wished he could lay the finest things in the world at her feet, but all he got in return was, "Su Yun, you don't have to do this."
*A fluffy little romance with no substance.
*Two little heartbroken souls finding comfort in each other. Beware: they're both hopeless romantics.

Blurb:
When Han Su was young, the demons wiped out her entire family. Her wet nurse hid her, saving her from an early death. When she grew up, she joined an immortal sect and swore to eliminate every demon in the world.
She and Jiang Qing fought each other to the death. The day Han Su pierced the Demon Lord Jiang Qing with countless swords and killed him, she finally avenged her family. When she returned to the sect, her elders arranged for her to marry her junior fellow apprentice.
Her junior fellow apprentice was gentle and devoted to her. They had known each other since childhood, were childhood sweethearts who loved each other, and were the sect elders' most prized disciples. It was the perfect match.
Han Su thought it was time she had a new family, so she agreed to the elders' suggestion without a second thought.
On their wedding day, the entire sect celebrated, and they held a grand ceremony using the customs of the mortal world.
That night, with a red veil over her head, Han Su watched the approaching footsteps and felt a rare flicker of nervousness and unease. But just as the veil was lifted, a cool yet gentle voice, filled with amusement, said, "So this is your type?"
Han Su's pupils contracted. She looked up in disbelief. It was still her junior fellow apprentice's face, but the smile in his eyes was wicked and unruly. It was unmistakably the Demon Lord, Jiang Qing!
The wedding ended in disaster. Han Su hated him, but there was nothing she could do about him.
One day, while Jiang Qing was using her junior fellow apprentice's body to take another dangerous risk, Han Su could no longer restrain herself and thrust her sword at him. He raised two fingers and caught it firmly, stopping the tip just before it reached his chest.
Jiang Qing looked at the sword and smiled. "Senior Sister, are you flirting with me?"
Han Su frowned in anger. He was sure she wouldn't do anything to him. With her junior fellow apprentice's level of skill, she could kill him with only seventy percent of her strength, but she hadn't.
The man before her smiled fearlessly. "Senior Sister, don't do that again. What if I can't catch your sword next time? Your beloved junior fellow apprentice might have to be reborn."
Han Su gritted her teeth. "Don't call me Senior Sister!"
Jiang Qing had been a carefree demon. He had no idea what he'd done to provoke Han Su, a disciple of an immortal sect, into wanting to kill him. Then she really did kill him, and his corpse was destroyed. He was reborn in the body of her beloved junior fellow apprentice.
He used this body to search for a way to restore his own corpse, often taking dangerous risks and upsetting Han Su. He didn't care. Han Su's gaze lingered on him all the time, full of love and hate, and he found it amusing.
But later, whenever he took a risk and she rushed over to save him, he too would find his gaze lingering on her for a long time. He could no longer tell whether she was saving him or her junior fellow apprentice. Later still, he suddenly began to hate his own face.

Oh, what a ruthless male protagonist. No wonder the female protagonist didn't believe in his goodness in the end.
