The Immaculate Wife

Pei Jian, the eldest legitimate son of the prominent Pei family, is handsome, talented in both letters and arms, and the most sought-after husband in the capital.

Later, he learns that while he was away, she used her frail body to protect his young niece from the clutches of their relatives. She also used her unyielding spirit to keep her father's final letter safe, making it key evidence in clearing the Pei family's name.

He thinks perhaps he still has a chance to win her back, but she tells him that she never wanted to marry him in the first place.

The former crown prince rises to power in a single day, returns to the capital, and becomes emperor.

As the new emperor's right-hand man, Pei Jian rises with him, restoring the Pei family to the highest ranks of the nobility.

Everyone says the Qin family's steadfast support through the Pei family's troubles was truly admirable. Now that Qin Yun is gone, Pei Jian should marry the Qin family's youngest legitimate daughter and make a perfect match of it.

But people notice that the high-ranking Lord Pei pays no heed to the rumors, standing outside Princess Yilan's residence every day, come rain or shine.
