Jin Rong fell in love at first sight with a handsome man and pampered him like royalty. Then that man took his money and ran, disappearing without a trace.
Jin Rong searched for him for over half a year. He didn't find the man, but he did find a little boy who looked ninety percent like that lying scumbag.
The three- or four-year-old lived alone in a dilapidated old house. He was dressed in rags, survived by scavenging through the trash, and even kept a dog. When he saw Jin Rong, he was overjoyed.
"Hello, Mr. Jin Rong. I'm the kid Mr. Hu Shuo secretly had with you after he broke up with you."
"Mr. Hu Shuo died of blood loss when he gave birth to me. I'm an orphan now. Since you're my other biological father, would you like to raise me?"
Blood loss?
A man giving birth?
A kid walking and talking after only six months?
Jin Rong laughed in disbelief.

CEO Jin Rong brought home a child who looked exactly like the scumbag who had tricked him and run off.
The CEO hadn't just been cheated on, he'd been cuckolded.
And not only had he been cuckolded, he was now raising the other man's kid.
Until one night, Jin Rong saw someone in his living room with a dog, no, a fox's head, swirling a glass of red wine and elegantly eating steak.
His bargain-bin son stood nearby, wagging a fluffy little tail and crying, "Daddy, I can't tuck my tail away!"
"Don't panic, kiddo. Your daddy can't tuck his head away either. Just stay calm."
"If Jin Rong finds out, will he kick us out?"
"Don't worry. Jin Rong is rich and stupid. Your daddy can con ten people like him."

College student Leng Yu woke up in the body of an assassin. His mission was to kill the tyrant in the book.
While scouting the place, he ran into another assassin who was there to kill the tyrant too.
His fellow assassin was a pretty-boy, devastatingly handsome but terribly frail. Before he could even make a move, he fainted.
And wouldn't you know it, he fainted right into Leng Yu's arms.
It looked suspiciously like a setup.
Leng Yu had no choice but to carry him home.
The next day, the tyrant disappeared. Word was, bandits had kidnapped him.
*
The pretty-boy Leng Yu brought home was so sick he couldn't get out of bed, and had no family or anywhere else to go.
Leng Yu was sure the guy had set him up.
He had only two options: kill him or take care of him.
Since they were fellow assassins, Leng Yu decided to let him live and look after him for now.
But this guy was such a handful.
A breeze made him cough, and the slightest movement left him breathless. His food had to be warm, his medicine had to be given on schedule, and if Leng Yu so much as missed a step, the guy would faint right in front of him.
That wasn't even the worst of it. The guy was a money pit, and Leng Yu couldn't earn money as fast as he spent it.
Leng Yu had had enough and wanted to dump him. But despite being frail and wasteful, the guy was so beautiful that Leng Yu couldn't quite bring himself to do it.
Since he couldn't get rid of him, Leng Yu decided to marry him instead.
Once he was his wife, Leng Yu had all the more reason to take care of him. He tended to his every need, leaving no detail unattended, until the man was healthy, handsome, and full of confidence.

The tyrant was nowhere to be found, so the assassination had to be put on hold.
But the book said that the tyrant was mad, and that in the later chapters he would lose his appetite, lie awake all night, and bring about his own death.
He would die at just twenty-five. By Leng Yu's calculations, the day was drawing near.
On the tyrant's twenty-fifth birthday, Leng Yu prepared paper money and waited for the state funeral, ready to send him on his way.
But the next day, news arrived: not only had the tyrant survived, he had completely recovered and could eat five bowls of rice in one sitting.
Leng Yu was stunned. Who had activated the tyrant's extra-life mode???
The assassination was back on.
After learning that the tyrant liked men, Leng Yu decided to seduce him.
He hid a poison needle that could kill with a single drop of blood in his hair, then was carried into the tyrant's bedchamber, wrapped in a quilt.
When the quilt was lifted, Leng Yu saw a man standing at the bedside with his hands behind his back. His pupils shook. Wasn't this his own sickly little flower, the one who was so hard to care for?
The tyrant, now strong and healthy thanks to Leng Yu, leaned close and pinched his chin. "The imperial physicians once said I wouldn't live past twenty-five. Now they say I could live to a hundred and five. You're the reason. Tell me, what reward would you like?"
Leng Yu: "..."
In his panic, Leng Yu sat right on top of the poison needle...
That night, he lay face-down on the dragon bed while they urgently sucked the poison from his blood...
Bonus scene:
The emperor had gone missing, and the palace sent out search parties in every direction. They were astonished to find him at a street stall selling grilled skewers.
The emperor wore coarse clothes and stood behind the grill, his face blank.
The young, handsome stall owner kicked the emperor in the leg and scolded him. "What are you standing around for? Call out to the customers! You think you can just wait here and eat?"
The imperial guards drew their swords in unison, ready to cut down the audacious kidnapper.
But their tyrant, who suffered from severe mental illness and was known for his cruelty and coldness, stepped in front of them and forced a stiff, sinister smile. "Are you here to eat, honored guest? Please, have a seat."
The guards' legs gave way, and they sank into their chairs. The emperor personally served them a plate of grilled skewers and charged them two taels of silver.
What a crook.
The emperor handed the two taels to the stall owner, whose expression changed in an instant. Smiling, the owner gave the emperor's terrifying cheek a hard pinch. "I'll treat you to a feast tonight."
The emperor gave a cold snort. "You'd better."
The guards: "?"
Your Majesty, what happened to you? Aren't you going to cut his head off?
