A teary-eyed, pampered blind boy vs. a dangerous, aristocratic tycoon
Shen Yi was rushed to the ICU for emergency treatment. When he woke up, he learned that the Shen family had been targeted for revenge and gone bankrupt overnight. All his relatives were dead, and he had been saddled with tens of billions in debt.
His creditors barged in, locked him in a basement, and left him cut off from the light of day.
Frailty made Shen Yi unwilling to endure their abuse, so he took his own life.
Just as he was about to die, a man who claimed to be the enemy who had destroyed his family burst in, dropped to his knees, and begged him not to die.

Pei Luo was an orphan abandoned by the roadside. He grew up fighting stray dogs for food.
On the coldest day of winter, with nowhere else to turn, he went to a temple. He watched the honored guests pray with incense, not even sparing a glance for him as he lay by the roadside, about to freeze to death.
Pei Luo thought it was laughable.
These people were cold, heartless, and hypocritical.
Yet just as he was about to die, a fox-fur coat that still held someone's warmth was laid over him.
"Are you still cold? Why are you sleeping here dressed so lightly? You'll get sick."
Clinging to that little bit of warmth, Pei Luo slowly opened his eyes. He saw a beautiful young man, his cheeks flushed from the cold. Every inch of his body had been pampered and well cared for, and his skin glowed white.
The young man suddenly smiled at him. "What are you talking about? I'm no Bodhisattva. I'm a worshipper too."
From then on, Pei Luo remembered him.
The only light in his bleak world.

Later, Pei Luo clawed his way up from the bottom, stepping over other people's bones to become a newly risen power feared by all.
At a dinner gathering one day, he overheard someone mention that they'd seized a beauty while collecting a debt and locked him in a basement. Pei Luo had always been cold-blooded. He'd never cared about such things, and had no interest in hearing about them.
He got up to leave, but the other man waved his phone at him. The bloodied person on the screen was the Bodhisattva he'd been searching for over seven years.
Pei Luo dealt with everyone who had bullied Shen Yi, then knelt in the cramped, filthy basement and held the trembling beauty protectively in his arms.
But Shen Yi had a weak heart. The shock left him with a high fever that wouldn't break for two days, and he was rushed back into surgery. He had little will to live, and his chances of survival were less than one in ten.
To save him, Pei Luo accepted the accusation that he was the enemy who had destroyed Shen Yi's family. He wanted Shen Yi to live on hating him, even if that meant killing him.
Shen Yi had given him his life. He ought to give it back to Shen Yi.
