Beneath pale wedding banners and bright red lanterns, he takes the place of the “groom.” On their wedding night, writhing tentacles and red gauze frame the dragon-and-phoenix wedding candles; a coffin reeks of decay, a slender waist… After that night, Rong Shu has a wife, but he can’t remember what she looks like.
