After Going on a Dating Reality Show with My Childhood Friend, Who's Straight

[A sweet story with no angst, come on in and enjoy!] [See the announcement for a direct link to upcoming works] The industry's famous "frenemies" duo, Song Mu and Lin Luqiu, have just performed an incredibly electric dance together, in the eighth year of their fans' bitter feud. The moment the performance hits the stage, the entire internet explodes. Everyone: Who came up with the bright idea of shipping these two??? Before anyone can recover, another bombshell drops. Song Mu and Lin Luqiu are going to appear together on a dating show as "trial lovers"!!! It has to be fake. It must be. Forget that their fans have been fighting openly and behind the scenes for years. With Song Mu's straight-guy energy that's two meters tall, can he even play along with Lin Luqiu? This is the guy whose teammate once tried to make a finger heart with him, only for him to turn the other guy's hand over, close it, and make them both give two thumbs-up instead. Everyone: If the production team wants to mess with us, at least make up something believable. Seriously, those two on a dating show? My dog and I could get married before that happens! The fans don't believe it, and neither do the passersby, but the dating show has really been filmed, and it's about to air. On the day it premieres, everyone camps out in front of their screens, wondering what the two will be like when they first meet. After all, they've both been in the business for years, with careers that have followed strikingly similar paths, yet they've never mentioned each other in public. Surely they must get along terribly. One is cool and proud, the other looks down on everyone. They're both untouchable beauties whose fans beg them to stay single forever. Put them together and both fan circles will explode three times over before a photo of them together even comes out. But to everyone's surprise, the two get along remarkably well. So well that they seem more like a real couple than the real couple next door. On camera, Lin Luqiu lounges half-reclined on the sofa like he has no bones. He stretches out a leg and nudges Song Mu's hand with his foot, chin tilted up. "Take a look. Is it cracked?" The person being bossed around doesn't seem annoyed. He leans over and gently rubs his lips against Lin Luqiu's. "Where's your lip balm? I'll put some on for you." "Didn't bring it." Then the famously germophobic young master takes his own tube out of his pocket and carefully applies it to the other man's lips. The one on the sofa doesn't seem to think anything of it. His eyes are half closed, and he looks completely content. Viewers: Wait... and you call this straight??? As more episodes air, the audience finally uncovers the truth: Song Mu and Lin Luqiu grew up together and were classmates for who knows how many years. What is that? A bona fide childhood-friends-to-lovers pair! Those matching outfits are actually the very same outfit! The secretly snapped photo of them glaring at each other was just taken during a visit to the set! They even went out to eat together afterward! The fans of both sides learn the truth and stare in shock. They... they fought for nothing... . Lin Luqiu fell for Song Mu a long time ago. Unfortunately, that idiot is stubborn and convinced that they're both straight as a ruler. Ha. What straight guy goes traveling and insists on sleeping in the same bed, then cuddles too? But it doesn't matter. The look in Song Mu's eyes says more than any words ever could. .
