The System said that as long as he played the substitute role and dealt with the scumbag's other romantic interests before the protagonist showed up, he could collect energy and regain his divine powers.

Jiang Mian: QAQ I'll do it!

But Gu Yu, a genius in the scientific community with a fortune worth billions, hated anyone who deliberately tried to get close to him more than anything.

Jiang Mian hadn't expected that, after a fierce competition, he'd almost been strangled to death by the scumbag before he could even start his substitute job.

When his kidnappers told him to choose between two people, Jiang Mian simply made his escape, took the scumbag's check, and went to enjoy the divine life in the North Pacific.

Jiang Mian: Sipping champagne, feeling my divine power, counting my money, and even getting to try roleplay. This is so much fun!

Just as Jiang Mian was blissfully enjoying his vacation and couldn't tear himself away, he suddenly received a notice from the System: something had gone wrong. The scumbag had fallen in love with him, and the plot had been derailed.

Jiang Mian's response: Small problem. Time for me to put on a show!

He went back to the villa and started acting like a spoiled brat!

After ninety-nine rounds of him running away and the other chasing him, with nowhere left to go, Jiang Mian was forced to move into a golden cage and became a real canary.

Like opening Pandora's box, Jiang Mian accidentally pushed open the basement door after the scumbag had left for work.

That's when he found out that none of it had been real.

The first lover he'd met was Gu Yu's assistant, sent to keep him under control. Unfortunately, Jiang Mian had foiled the plan by calling for help.

The second time, the blood donation had been a lie, too. It was a chance to get him onto the operating table.

The third time, the kidnapping and the forced choice between two people had all been fake, just a way to make him disappear from the outside world without raising suspicion.

It had all been done to remove the System from Jiang Mian.

The entire basement was stacked with countless notebooks, filled with lessons learned from trying to remove systems from transmigrators.

On the wall, written in dried blood, were the words: Jiang Tingmian, wait for me.

Jiang Tingmian was the name of the scumbag's first love.
