Song An'an pushed open the villa's front door and saw a man waiting for her on the living-room sofa.
Under the glow of the luxurious chandelier, Huo Musheng spoke coolly. "8:12 p.m. You're twelve minutes late getting home."
He gathered his documents and stood up. "Take half an hour to get ready. I'll wait upstairs."
Song An'an took a deep breath and flung the divorce papers she'd prepared long ago in front of him. "Sorry! Let's get divorced."
Huo Musheng paused, frowning slightly. "...From now on, I'll keep it under three hours."
Song An'an's face stiffened. Gritting her teeth, she said, "I said, let's get divorced, you bastard!"
Song An'an had thought her marriage to Huo Musheng was simply a matter of each getting what they needed. She got the money to help her family through a crisis, while Huo Musheng got to fend off pressure to marry.
So she diligently played the role of his wife, putting up with his abnormal need for control, and finally waited until the day she could pay off the debt and quit.
But it wasn't until she asked for a divorce that Song An'an realized things might not be what she'd imagined.
In a brightly lit banquet hall, Huo Musheng drove away someone who had approached her with ulterior motives, then helped her to the garden to rest.
A little tipsy, she waved away the warm water he offered and muttered irritably, "Don't tell me what to do, Daddy Huo!"
Huo Musheng merely fell silent, then crouched in front of her and took her hand. "I'm seeing a doctor. From now on, will you look after me, An'an?"

Shu Manshi graduated from a prestigious university. She was beautiful, came from a wealthy family, and spent three years pursuing Cheng Huai before finally winning him over and marrying him.
After the wedding, she was sweet and gentle, devoted herself to the Cheng family, and endlessly indulged Cheng Huai. Even when rumors of his affairs kept swirling, she could smile at the people mocking her and drape a coat over his shoulders. "I trust you, so don't be upset. Give me a smile, okay?"
A year into their marriage, Cheng Huai brought home a six-months-pregnant woman on Shu Manshi's birthday. He said he had to take responsibility for getting drunk and sleeping with her, so he was letting the woman and her child move in.
The woman sobbed weakly and fainted, clutching her belly. Shu Manshi calmly arranged for a doctor, entertained the guests, and settled the pregnant woman in.
Then, late at night, she took the divorce papers and knocked on the woman's door next door. "Sorry to interrupt. Cheng Huai, there's a divorce agreement you need to sign."
Cheng Huai had married Shu Manshi because she had excellent genes, was capable, and loved him deeply.
Even when the woman he'd carelessly gotten involved with came knocking, Shu Manshi could handle it with grace.
In the dimly lit villa corridor, Cheng Huai coldly tore up the divorce papers. "She's just an accident. You're angry, so I'll let it go this time."
He was certain Shu Manshi couldn't leave him, but she walked away decisively, catching him completely off guard.
Cheng Huai could never understand her heartlessness, until he saw the notes from Shu Manshi's therapist.
The first page read: "The way he smiles looks so much like his."
The last page read: "I really can't keep treating him as a stand-in for the other man."
Only then did he realize she had never loved him.
Cheng Huai rushed to the Shu family home to try to win her back, only to see his brother, who had been presumed dead and had returned from abroad, holding Shu Manshi in his arms. The face that looked eighty percent like his own was filled with deep affection and possessiveness.
Cheng Rong once thought he would give up all the plans he'd spent so long preparing for Shu Manshi.
She was already his younger brother's wife, and he didn't want to disrupt her life.
But seeing Shu Manshi humiliated changed Cheng Chuan's mind.
Why should anyone else be allowed to trample on the moon he treasured in his heart?
So what if she'd been married? He could just take her back.

Blurb:
In Shao Huairen's eyes, Yu Chun was the kind of girl who flirted with anyone. Today she teased a sweet-looking guy, tomorrow she hit on a younger guy with abs. She was always busy. One day, Yu Chun hit on Shao Huairen.
"Hey, handsome, my cat can do a backflip. Want to come see?" She traced circles on his chest with her finger.
Shao Huairen didn't think much of Yu Chun's lowbrow tricks. They might work on an innocent college student, but not on an elite businessman like him...
The next morning, Shao Huairen's legs were still trembling when he went to work.
Shao Huairen was sure he wasn't that foolish. She could trick his body, but she couldn't trick his heart! He guarded his heart like a precious jewel and had rejected eight hundred tons of sugar-coated artillery.
Until one day, his dark-skinned cousin from the sports university bragged to him, "Bro, I think I'm in love. That older girl, her cat really can do a backflip!"
Only then did Shao Huairen realize that the con artist hadn't come around to seduce him in ages.
He caught Yu Chun at his cousin's family dinner. "My cat can do the dishes, believe it or not. Either way, you're coming home with me to see!"
Shao Huairen had no idea how many years Yu Chun had spent psyching herself up to flirt with him.
