[The 1980s] Marriage by Agreement

*

In 1985, two people who didn't believe in marriage entered into a fashionable marriage of convenience.

*

Jiang Hua had understood since childhood that marriage didn't require love. You simply weighed each other's circumstances and got married if they suited you. But Jiang Hua didn't consider himself a good person, and he wasn't willing to do something so improper. Marriage? No way in hell.

Mu Yang's life was the stuff of legends. She escaped an arranged marriage in a remote mountain village and went to Peking University. In the big city, she met many men, each charming, capable, and good-tempered. But marriage was still out of the question. She refused.

After an unexpected incident, the two decided to enter into a fashionable, carefree contract marriage. At first, they'd help each other out, then part on good terms when the time came.

·

Later, Jiang Hua thought they should never have made a marriage contract in the first place. If they'd simply gotten married, then she'd be his wife, and that would be that.

1. This is a love story set in 1985. Different characters in the novel have noticeably different old-fashioned and modern outlooks. Their views don't represent the author's.

2. The heroine has been forced into a marriage once before.

3. This is not a win-her-back-after-mistreating-her story.

4. I'm always changing the blurb. Anyway, the main idea is that the two fall in love and heal each other's old wounds. Love is the best!

Theme: Good love makes both people better
