Cherry Blossom Fireworks

[Bright, sweet ballet dancer X aloof, distant ice hockey player]

[The heroine has Alice in Wonderland syndrome]

There was a saying that went around Hechuan High School.

Write the name of your crush on a piece of paper, fold it into a paper airplane, and launch it from the school building. If it flies far and stays aloft for a long time, your feelings will come true.

After school, Ke Mingying folded the sheet of paper covered with the words "Jian Xi, I like you" into a paper airplane and tossed it out the classroom window.

The paper airplane, filled with a young girl's secret feelings, shot upward like a rocket with an engine, flying higher and farther. After circling a few times, it landed squarely on Jian Xi's head.

Jian Xi took the paper airplane down, smoothed the hair over his forehead, and looked up at the school building.

At that moment, Ke Mingying was crouched beneath the window, both hands clamped tightly over her mouth, her heart pounding furiously.

At the World Ice Hockey Championships, the much-watched athlete Jian Xi scored twice in the final minute and a half of the game, turning the match around and sending the whole arena into a frenzy.

After the game, he turned down every interview, caught the earliest flight to Australia, and made a high-profile appearance at the Sydney Opera House the next day.

The final performance of the Alice in Wonderland ballet included an autograph session. As one of the lead performers, Ke Mingying patiently wrote a message for every audience member.

Then Jian Xi appeared before her, and her heart, still as a motionless well, shattered in an instant.

People at the venue who recognized Jian Xi pointed their cameras at the two of them and snapped photos frantically.

Amid the commotion, Ke Mingying heard her own voice.

"What should I write?"

"Jian Xi, I like you." Jian Xi's voice was so soft that only Ke Mingying could hear him. "Write that."
