Even a Little Stray Dog Wants Cuddles

School romance / evenly matched / childhood friends / bickering couple / dog-training romance

Han Yicheng has a black dot the size of a grain of rice beneath his left eye. From a distance, it looks like a tear mole that makes people feel sorry for him.

Only Yao Ruo knows it's a scar from when she jabbed him with a pencil during a fight as a child. Her parents pinned her down and gave her a sound thrashing for it.

Even now, thinking about it makes her grit her teeth. He was the one who bit her first, that little stray dog!

"Little stray dog" is her special name for him.

Others call him a bastard and mock him for living under someone else's roof.

Han Yicheng doesn't care. With a face handsome enough to outshine everyone, he has topped the grade rankings year after year and frozen out every girl who tries to get close to him, except for one: Yao Ruo.

"Han Yicheng, I've noticed that when you put on your cold face, you look just like Sesshomaru!"

"You probably don't know who that is, right? He's a super handsome dog!"

Han Yicheng is just about to tell her to shut up when her cheerful voice rings out behind him again. "But I really like him!"

He silently swallows the words he was about to say, and the corners of his mouth lift instead.

He slows his pace, and the two of them walk side by side along the route home they've taken countless times.

[Bright, bold girl x brooding, obsessive boy]

Reading guide:

1. The female lead is six months older than the male lead. Does that count as an older-girl-younger-boy romance?

2. High school romance followed by college romance.

3. The girl is extroverted, the guy is introverted. Heh... Introverts are all playthings for extroverts!

Both leads are each other's first and only.

Theme: The true meaning of love.
