A Letter Sent on the Evening Breeze

Rekindled love | Ex chases wife to crematorium | Workplace

Law firm partner x female research scientist with a PhD

The day Rong Jinshu moves to Haicheng, a slipper lands at her feet.

A boy sits on a trellis, backlit by the sun. His big eyes are as round as the grapes in his hand. "Want some?"

The boy is Jiang Yi, the landlord's son. He's ten years younger than her, and the youngest little landlord on the whole street.

A typhoon hits, and the windows rattle in the wind.

Rong Jinshu wakes in the middle of the night and sees a figure crouched on the windowsill, using tape to secure the glass.

Soaked through, the boy grins at her. "Good evening, big sis."

A new legal advisor arrives at the research institute.

Shen Jingbai, just like his name suggests, is handsome, refined, and gentle.

The female employees rack their brains for reasons to visit his office, while Rong Jinshu stays in the lab every day with the door shut.

When a colleague kindly tries to set her up with someone, she smiles and declines.

"Do you know why she got divorced? Apparently she was fooling around, so her ex-husband dumped her."

"Look at her. I bet she got plenty of money out of that rich kid, too."

The break room door opens.

"Spreading rumors and defaming someone behind their back can be punished by detention and a fine. Also..."

Shen Jingbai looks past the crowd at the person in the distance. "We got divorced because I deserved it."

Rong Jinshu has never regretted falling in love with Shen Jingbai, nor has she regretted getting divorced.

The only thing she regrets is giving up the research she loved most for the sake of her marriage.

This time, no one can stop her from moving forward.

Gentle, reserved ex-husband x cool, clear-headed beauty
