On the Eve of the End [Road Trip]

[A cold-faced woman X a manipulative, sweet-talking man, road-trip story, short story, not serialized for profit]

Qiu Yue knew Cheng Que's parents didn't like her, and their meeting had ended badly too.

Afterward, Cheng Que cautiously studied her expression, afraid she'd break up with him at any moment.

To his surprise, she smiled and suggested, "Why don't we elope?"

They set off before the rainstorm arrived.

The night was dark, and the road ahead unknown.

Following Qiu Yue's suggestion, Cheng Que went to rest in the back seat. When he woke up, he found his hands and feet tied and his mouth sealed with tape.

Meanwhile, Qiu Yue was humming a cheerful tune. Hearing a noise from the back, she casually glanced at him in the rearview mirror. "You're awake?"

Unfamiliar scenery rushed past outside the window.

After a few seconds of thought, Cheng Que finally understood what was happening:

The elopement he'd been looking forward to had somehow turned into a kidnapping for reasons he couldn't fathom.
