Frostfall in a Dream

The first time Qing Xiu ever had a romantic dream, she dreamed of a woman named Shuang Jiang. The woman pulled her onto the bed, pushed her down, then, tired at last, lay on top of her and panted softly.

Qing Xiu thought it was only a dream.

Who knew that before long, she would find a woman named Shuang Jiang in the forest at the edge of her sect?

Shuang Jiang was gravely injured, her white clothes stained with blood. Helplessly curled up in a corner of a cave, she looked like a little beast that had been abandoned.

Softhearted, Qing Xiu brought her back to the sect. Only then did she discover that Shuang Jiang's cultivation was astonishingly powerful, three major realms above even the sect leader, the most powerful cultivator in the sect.

She was only one step away from ascending to immortality.

Everyone congratulated Qing Xiu, saying she'd found a treasure.

Only Qing Xiu knew that she hadn't found a treasure at all. She'd brought home an ancestor to wait on hand and foot.

It wasn't enough to provide good food and drink. She also had to play with her, and not the ordinary kind of play. It was the kind from her dream, where one of them pushed the other onto the bed, and they took turns pinning each other down.

Shuang Jiang angered the Heavenly Dao and was cast down to the lower realm, battered and bruised. When she opened her eyes and surveyed her surroundings, she discovered one good piece of news and one bad one.

The bad news was that her wife was dead, and she had become a widow.

The good news was that her wife's soul had escaped and successfully reincarnated. She had been born again as a human, and now she was standing right in front of Shuang Jiang, blushing as she held out a hand and offered to take her back to the sect to recover.

Shuang Jiang gazed at her, blinking pitifully. On the verge of tears, she replied, "Okay."

Then, on the journey back, she lay on her wife's back and cried until she soaked the whole back of her clothes.

-

Happy ending.
