The Entertainment Industry's Overworked Employee Doesn't Want to Go to Work Today Either

Super clingy, green-tea gong X sunshine shou with a vivid inner monologue and a clear head

He Xing has been working nonstop for three years since his debut, while his company leaves him to fend for himself.

No one knows much about his fanbase, but his antis are legion, and they attack the entire entertainment industry indiscriminately.

He's united the entire Chinese entertainment fandom single-handedly. As the saying goes, wherever He Xing goes, war follows.

Finally, one day, He Xing can't take his heartless company's exploitation any longer and runs away.

The colleagues caught in the crossfire: This calls for a celebration!

But somehow... something seems off?!

It seems even his antis have grown listless since He Xing disappeared:

[Without He Xing, I've lost interest in this whole industry...]

[Sigh, I can't even get into doing fan stats without him around.]

[Report! He Xing is at...]

And so, netizens gradually uncover He Xing's travel itinerary, and keep updating it as they go...

He Xing enjoys his trip in peace, while his antis analyze every frame of his leaked photos.

[How long is this guy going to travel? Does he even care about his career anymore?]

[He's put on weight again. Whatever happened to keeping in shape?]

[Who's that person next to him? They've been together the whole time.]

After the antis have spent half a year patiently tracking him, He Xing finally seems to remember that he's a singer.

Everyone thinks he's going to come back and take the entertainment world by storm with a new song. Instead, the first thing he does is post a photo. His Weibo caption is short and sweet:

[He Xing: Official announcement.]

Netizens have sharp eyes: Isn't that the guy who's been in all his photos?!

Two seconds later, Weibo crashes.

He Xing is utterly confused: ...Wasn't I still a nobody?

Colleagues and antis: You seem to have a pretty serious misunderstanding of your own status.

.

On the day of the announcement, netizens dig up everything about Shen Xuzhou.

[Are the standards for amateur Peking opera performers really that high now? Do they all have to be this handsome?]

[Have you seen the famous people wall at our school? He looks just like the guy on it.]

[He looks so familiar... Isn't he my dean?!]

That night, He Xing holds up his phone with a blank expression for the man kneeling on a washboard to see.

"Care to explain?"

Reader's guide:

1. The first part is a road-trip story, slice-of-life, with a slow-burn romance. Both are virgins.

2. Same-sex marriage is legal in this setting. The shou has a bit of a sweet-on-the-surface, dark-underneath side.

3. Feel free to tease the author, but don't insult the protagonists. Let's keep the conversation friendly~
