After Playing Matchmaker for a Power Couple on a Variety Show, the Whole Internet Started Urging Me to Get Married

Su Mian, a minor celebrity with barely any fame, is vilified across the internet after a rescue attempt is misunderstood.

Worried about him, his father gives him a special birthday present: a caregiver contract.

As luck would have it, his caregiver is Xie Ci, the ex-boyfriend who used him five years ago.

Su Mian has no intention of dealing with him, but his assistant accidentally signs the wrong contract, enrolling him in a divorce reality show instead of a dating show.

The program requires every celebrity to bring their "ex" along. Su Mian initially plans to ask a friend for help, but the friend is busy, so he has no choice but to go along with the mistake and bring Xie Ci.

Before filming even begins, the public is in an uproar.

[Every guest on After the Divorce is a top-tier star. What gave someone as obscure as Su Mian the nerve to show up?]

[Someone like him has nobody backing him. He'll just get pushed around on a variety show. Just wait until he gets put in his place.]

Su Mian can't be bothered to respond. He focuses on completing the couples' interaction challenges on the show.

In his spare time, he tries to reunite the older celebrities who still have feelings for each other after their divorces. When the challenges get difficult, he even steps in to help them.

After a few episodes, viewers have changed their minds about Su Mian, who is always happy to help. Some even dig up the video of his rescue from years ago, and public opinion turns around in an instant.

[We misunderstood Mianmian. Waaaah, my face hurts so much from getting slapped.]

[Looks like Mianmian's going to get those older stars back together. Can't wait!]

[Mianmian, our little matchmaker, don't just set everyone else up. Turn around and look at Xie Ci!]

[Xie Ci is the best man in the world!]

After the show wraps, Su Mian becomes a huge star.

The bigwigs whose remarriages he helped arrange all send him messages.

Three-time Golden Award-winning actor: @Su Mian @Xie Ci, give me a shout when you remarry. My wife says she'll give you two 50 million as a wedding gift.

Popular actress: I'll give you 30 million.

Music industry veteran: I'll come sing to warm up the crowd.

Famous director: If you remarry, the male lead in my Spring Festival release is yours.

Xie Qingsheng: As my daughter-in-law, you'd inherit assets worth hundreds of billions. Care to consider it?

Netizens: Isn't that the head of Shengqing Entertainment, who can pull all the strings in show business? Xie Ci is actually the crown prince of Shengqing!

Xie Ci: Still working on making my darling happy. Thanks for your concern, everyone. And to @ThatNetizen, I'll support my wife myself. No need to trouble yourself.
