Disaster Game

Earth calendar year 2035, Yujing time, September 2, 2:49 p.m.

The global magnetic field went haywire, and all signals were cut off. Daylight fell, and eternal night descended.

An unknown force randomly selected players from countries around the world to take part in a game.

The winners had their wishes granted. The losers brought down natural disasters.

Lu Qinghuai merely blinked. When he opened his eyes again, he was standing in a pitch-black plaza.

As he looked around in bewilderment, the people of Longxia were watching him through the live broadcast on the sky screen above.

The young man representing Longxia had an exam paper in his left hand and a pen in his right. He was still wearing his school uniform.

His bewildered expression made him look like a fawn venturing out of the forest for the first time.

The people of Longxia: “We’re done for. How did they pick a high school student straight out of a school entrance exam?”

They watched Lu Qinghuai stumble his way through the game, then stammer out a wish for his home to be lit up.

The people of Longxia sighed again and again, convinced that high school students really couldn’t be relied upon.

But who would have thought that Lu Qinghuai’s residential area would include two engineering universities and a specialized industrial research institute?

The people of Longxia: “It must be a coincidence, right? It has to be.”

Only later did they realize that...

On the evening of September 2, Earth calendar year 2035, Yujing time,

the young man named Lu Qinghuai had already lit the first spark in the darkness and sounded humanity’s first call to counterattack.

"Amid natural disasters, I am the dawn."
