A Green-Tea Attack Type Arrives at the General's Mansion

In the eighth year of Chunhua.

The undefeated general Ye Wan was summoned back to the capital to investigate a corruption case.

Pei Yuanying, the Grand Secretary of the Cabinet, had built a private faction and thrown the imperial court into chaos. With the evidence irrefutable, the powerful Pei family fell overnight.

Pei Yunyan, Pei Yuan's only son, had been frail and sickly since childhood. Thin and weak, he spent year after year bedridden, surrounded by medicine, and never set foot outside the gate.

After the Pei family was brought down, Pei Yunyan appeared before the public for the first time. He was radiant as the rosy clouds and bright as the moon, like a lotus rising from the water, delicate as jade and soft as a flower. His frailty was tinged with pallor, making him all the more pitiful.

“General, I am willing to atone for my father's crimes and serve at your side. Please spare my father.”

The young master Pei coughed every few steps as he made his unsteady way to Ye Wan and dropped to his knees with a thud. He held a white silk handkerchief between his fingers. His frail, pampered air was enough to make anyone's heart melt and fill them with tenderness.

Ye Wan raised an eyebrow. Pei Yuan had committed every evil imaginable, yet doted on his only son. If Ye Wan took Pei Yunyan into his household as a male concubine, he would give Pei Yuan a humiliating slap in the face and disgrace the entire Pei family.

With that in mind, Ye Wan slowly crouched to look at Pei Yunyan. A hint of amusement touched his lips. “Fine. Come on your own in three days.”

With that, Ye Wan flicked his hand. The jade hairpin was plucked from Pei Yunyan's hair, and his ink-black locks spilled loose, making him look even more frail and stunning.

Holding the hairpin up to the light, Ye Wan squinted. “It shines like spring blossoms, clear and translucent. What a pity it's so brittle. It breaks easily.”

As he spoke, he let go. With a clatter, the jade hairpin shattered into pieces. He swept away without sparing a glance for Pei Yunyan, who lay as low as an ant on the ground.

After he left, Pei Yunyan raised his head from his crouch. Watching Ye Wan's figure gradually disappear beyond the doorway, he curled his lip in disdain, his eyes full of coldness. “Tch. He's really putting on an act.”

That damn general. Give him an inch and he'll take a mile.

Just you wait!
