The Discipline Committee Member in a Horror Game

A school prefect, as the name suggests, is someone who maintains good conduct and order on campus. Liu Qingwei is a dedicated head prefect, though the students he manages seem a little... unusual. There are always bizarre characters at school challenging the rules. His classmates either share a single face or suddenly appear and disappear, and they love saying strange things. But he still devotes himself every day to keeping the campus safe and stopping all sorts of rule-breaking: "Swimming in the campus pond is prohibited." He hauls a lake spirit, who had been confusing passersby, out of the water. "You're violating food safety regulations. Come with me." He stuffs a ghoul trying to sell butter fingers at the cafeteria counter into detention. "Open flames are strictly forbidden in classrooms." A teacher possessed by a demon and trying to burn the whole class to death is subdued on the spot when the smoke alarm goes off. Though he thinks he's simply doing his job, at some point he suddenly gains a huge fan base. Even total strangers start idolizing him. Liu Qingwei becomes the school's star in its admissions brochure. Enrollment at the School of Strange Tales rises year after year, and the ghostly school administrators grin so widely they float up to the roof of the classroom building. A legend circulates among players of the Strange Tales game: The safest faction in the entire game is the School of Strange Tales, where the NPC head prefect is stationed. Ever since the head prefect appeared, the school's death rate has plummeted. Players are desperate to join the School of Strange Tales, but unless they're randomly assigned to the faction from the start, the requirements for switching factions later are impossibly strict. Just as unlucky players are consumed by envy of the lucky ones, they discover that the NPC head prefect, who used to appear only at school, has walked out the front gate. That's right, Liu Qingwei is a game NPC who respawns at fixed intervals in the School of Strange Tales. After maxing out his service contribution, he finally unlocks a new map. Watching the Strange Tales creatures eye him menacingly in his new apartment, he calmly opens the chainsaw in his hands. Another day spent maintaining good conduct, Liu Qingwei thinks. Theme: Be dedicated to your work and become an exemplary young person of the new era.
