[Detective Conan] Sota-kun Keeps Trying to Make a Dark Move on Someone Else's Partner

Before Miss Justice stuck her nose into his business, Zongtian Lingye was a gloomy, suspicious mushroom, so moldy he was practically rotting. He used to dwell on dark thoughts, but never got the chance to put them into practice. That was because Ran Mouri arrived in that narrow, forgotten alley with her invincible fists and used her dazzling karate skills to drive off all the delinquents. He peeked out to see what was happening, and was greeted by a face so radiant it could blind him. Her left cheek said “helping someone in need,” and her right cheek said “doing good for others.” Then she buried him under a heap of sunny platitudes that made any gloomy person intensely uncomfortable: “This is what I wanted to do.” Her tone was incredibly calm. “Helping people shouldn’t be something you have to be asked to do. I wanted to help, so don’t worry about it.” “Unfair,” Mushroom Boy thought. As long as Little Miss Sunshine laid out her own airtight logic first, saying things like “Zongtian, you’re not like that,” with not a trace of gloom beneath all that sunlight, she was invincible. Later, Zongtian recalled darkly: “Have you heard the story of the fisherman and the genie? After waiting three hundred years without being saved, the genie decided to kill the person who freed him in the fourth hundredth year.” Ran: “Huh? So are you going to get revenge on me, Zongtian?” “...No.” Reader’s guide: Breaking up the canon pairing. Gloomy original male lead x Ran Mouri. Written after a favorite character got wrecked by Aoyama. Doesn’t follow the Detective Conan plot, it’s all about romance. Go ahead and steal her away, gloomy Zongtian. ^^ Theme: Hard work pays off (you can do it!)
