Conan: The Hundredth First Meeting

I. After all 99 of Kubota Minori's save files were ruined by crashes, the customer service agent finally responded to her complaint. A cream-colored teddy bear appeared out of thin air. "You must be..." "Yes, I'm your dedicated customer service representative, number 24SG6604." "Finally..." Kubota Minori reached out to the teddy bear. "I'm going to beat you to death, you late-ass bastard!" II. Ever since the night at Tropical Land, two dangerous shadows had always loomed over little detective Conan: one was a mysterious criminal organization, and the other was named Kubota Minori. "Hey, you know... You gave me an idea today. I could add a stupid detective to my manga, one whose body shrank but whose brains stayed just as small." Kubota Minori was brimming with enthusiasm. "Don't you dare draw that!" Kudo Shinichi protested. "What do you mean, 'brains just as small'? At least say 'just as sharp'!" After asking her to help clear up Ran's suspicions: "What exactly did you tell Ran?" "Fine, I told her that after you left that day, you accidentally stumbled upon an illegal deal between criminals... After a series of complicated legal proceedings, basically, you accidentally disrupted a police operation, so you were arrested and are having a hard time in the detention center." Conan nearly passed out. Remembering Amuro Tooru's terrifying smile at school, Conan muttered in complaint, "Jeez, I asked him directly and he still wouldn't admit who he was. Mr. Amuro really is stubborn." Kubota Minori said in a low voice, "No..." "Huh?" "His mouth is soft. I can prove it." Conan: ...Could you say something a minor is allowed to hear while I'm here?! After this happened time and time again, Conan finally understood one thing completely: Kubota Minori had something wrong with her. She might not be able to tell the difference between a guess, a joke, and a serious suggestion. Sometimes he only meant to offer an idea, but to her, it could become "a plan we can put into practice." Like right now, when the silver thread in her hand wasn't thread at all... It was Gin's hair!!! Aaaaaaah! And just as the little detective was losing it... "The starry sky is so beautiful. Why are you staring at me?" "I'm just an ordinary person, with ordinary morals and ordinary talent. All I can rely on is a few lucky encounters... The starry sky above and the morality within. To me, someone like you shines as brightly as the stars." "...Um, thank you for the compliment?" "I'm not complimenting you," Kubota Minori said with a smile. "I'm just stating a fact. At least right now, it's not the distant starry sky that's lighting my way. It's you." From a romantic perspective, the male lead is Furuya Rei. There isn't much romance. The protagonist focuses on "leaving this world" in the early part of the story, and only has time to consider romance after achieving that goal. The story has an outline and will cover at least up to Rum's appearance. The plot won't stray too far. No chapters in reserve. I'll write and post as I go. From now on, I'll correct typos every Monday, saving up a week's worth and fixing them all in one day. If the story is under review around then, that's why. I'm not under contract. I'll try to make good use of the scheduled-post review feature, but things can happen. Posts will probably be under review for about an hour after publication. Theme: If life could stay as it was at our first meeting, I'd beat Bourbon a hundred times over.
