Lin Wubai died.
As a merfolk, he was served up as food on the table of Yu Pei, an A-grade male insect of the Empire.
Just one bite of merfolk flesh could turn even the lowest-ranked C-grade female insect into a rare and noble A-grade.
And Yu Pei was already an A-grade.
Lin Wubai was tricked into leaving the slums, believing he had found true love.
But in the end, his broken bones and rotting flesh were tossed carelessly back into the slums' mass grave.
Everything returned to the beginning.
Then Lin Wubai came back to life.
He discovered that he wasn't a merfolk at all...
He was a sea demon, a species that had gone extinct in history and was the natural enemy of the insect race.
Fully matured sea demons could bewitch others with their voices.
As a natural enemy of the insect race, Lin Wubai could hunt them as easily as breathing.
However, because he'd been buried in the earth for too long, these abilities often made his mental state unstable.
To get revenge and treat his illness, Lin Wubai became a bounty hunter.
But the more jobs he took, the less money he made. At last, Lin Wubai set his sights on the number one bounty hunter, [WING].
A naturally gifted S-grade male insect, arrogant and cruel, with mysterious ties to the royal family. He fit Lin Wubai's stereotypical image of the insect race perfectly.
But along the way, he fell into a trap set by his fellow bounty hunters, who were jealous of him.
So Lin Wubai got back up, Lin Wubai wiped them out in one move, and then Lin Wubai's mind collapsed.
A man passing by witnessed it all.
This alley was on the man's way home.
He affectionately and teasingly called Lin Wubai his "ocean lady" and took him home.
When the man effortlessly suppressed Lin Wubai's terrifying, ghost-like mental power, Lin Wubai belatedly realized that he was [WING].
With his identity exposed, Wing didn't panic at all. He simply stood outside Lin Wubai's room, watching his scales and tail that he couldn't retract, like a pervert.
"My dear ocean lady," he said.
"If I help you get your revenge, will you let me touch your fish tail?"
P.S.
The term "ocean lady" comes from the English words "mermaid" or "merfolk." They originate from the Old English words "mere" (ocean) and "maid" (maiden), which is why a mermaid can be translated as "ocean lady."
