[A touch-starved, tentacled nonhuman with overwhelming strength × a self-serving, shamelessly curious troublemaker]
The quiz game "How Many Days Will I Survive in the Apocalypse?" is all the rage. Lin Guanci has never been one to follow trends, but on a whim, he gives it a try. Then...
The world is taken over by the game.
Everyone who never played becomes a "zombie NPC."
Players who took the test must survive for the number of days they scored to win the game and obtain a "virus antibody injection."
Players can exchange [Sunlight] for [Plants] to fend off zombies, or trade it for survival supplies.
Classic Sunflowers, Red Bean Shooters, Cherry Bombs, Big-Bold Mushrooms.
A huge cleaver for 9.9 yuan with free shipping, a Green Xiang-brand excavator, a practical armory, and more.
Lin Guanci stares at his impressive score of 3,170 days, then at the two cups of instant noodles left at home, lost in thought.
"You played Plants vs. Zombies for eight years. Are you serious?"
When the first wave of zombies pounds on the flimsy apartment door, Lin Guanci immediately grabs the neighborhood phone book, pretends to be a delivery guy, and calls his neighbor across the hall.
"Hello, is this the resident of 803? Your delivery is at the door. Please come get it."
He only meant to send the neighbor out to test how strong the zombies were. He never expected the neighbor to take out a whole horde without a scratch.
After killing the zombies, the neighbor knocks on his door and says he's come to collect his delivery.
At first, Lin Guanci doesn't want to open the door. Then the neighbor outside gets so hungry that he starts gnawing on his own tentacles...
Lin Guanci: Wait, what tentacles?!
That's when Lin Guanci learns the wisdom of "let your neighbor stockpile food while you stockpile guns, then use your neighbor as a food pantry," and is forced into a life of hoarding supplies.
He learns that his neighbor's survival time on the test was only half an hour, meaning he got the "virus serum" as soon as the game began.
Then he discovers that his neighbor can exploit a bug to generate [Sunlight], but the plants he gets in exchange are always eaten by the neighbor as snacks, most of them disappearing in no time.
To stay alive, Lin Guanci has no choice but to go out with his tentacled neighbor and expand their map.
The mall? Raided.
The neighborhood? Stripped clean.
A gang of players who specialize in stealing survival supplies? Taken down with force.
A zombie horde? Eaten. (He drags his neighbor away and makes a reluctant exit.)
#Without me, I guarantee my neighbor would go out and forage for garbage with the zombies#
#And in the end, his food chain would go from garbage to zombies#
#I only meant to go out and stock up on food, but somehow ended up with a bunch of teammates#
#To be precise, this is a slice-of-life survival story#
