The Abandoned Concubine Transmigrated into a Gloomy Eunuch

Su Jiu transmigrated into the body of a male consort in the Great Yong dynasty who shared his name. But he had terrible luck: the old emperor died the very night he arrived. According to the rules, all the imperial consorts in the harem were to be confiscated and buried with the emperor.

With no power or influence, and only a pretty face to his name, he did everything he could to meet Xie Wen, the powerful chief eunuch of the Directorate of Ceremonial.

Xie Wen entered the palace as a eunuch when he was young and carved out his own path through the blood-soaked harem. He was ruthless, taciturn, and mercurial. He was also the one in charge of arranging the consorts' burial this time.

Looking at the handsome, delicate-looking man before him, whose every movement was graceful, Su Jiu clenched his fists. He was willing to do anything to stay alive.

"Nobleman Su wants to become this family's paired companion?" The man seated above him set down his teacup and raised an eyebrow, his voice sharpening.

Xie Wen hadn't planned to waste words on a discarded consort, but he hadn't expected the other man to offer to live with him just to survive.

He stood up, a hint of amusement barely perceptible at the corner of his mouth. He slowly leaned closer, his tall figure looming over Su Jiu and pressing down on him with an indescribable weight.

"You want to be a paired companion to a eunuch? Aren't you afraid of sullying the noble dignity of the imperial family?"

Mockery and coldness filled Xie Wen's dark eyes. Su Jiu steeled himself, rose onto his tiptoes, and wrapped his arms around the other man before leaning in.

Xie Wen froze at once. Soft as a jade flower, the other's lips touched his with the careful lightness of a dragonfly. Those slender fingers clung to his shoulders. Through his court robes, he could clearly feel the weakness and desperate resolve radiating from Su Jiu.

Xie Wen suddenly changed his mind. There was no reason he couldn't give this little discarded consort a way to live...
