(Xiao Yan X Runyu) Life-Bound Sword

Nine thousand years ago, the demon race was sealed in the abyss, restoring peace and clarity to the world.

Nine thousand years later, the Imperial Sword still remained, yet demonic energy had inexplicably returned to the world.

When Xiao Yan woke in a small village at the foot of the Beidou Immortal Sect, he remembered nothing. He had forgotten even basic common sense, let alone anything besides his own name.

But he was sure of one thing: he was absolutely not cut out to be a sword cultivator.

The Master of Tianji Peak was renowned as the greatest swordsman of his time. Cold and indifferent, he lived in seclusion on Tianji Peak and had not taken a disciple in over a century.

Unable to defy the Sect Master's arrangements, that year he personally attended the disciple selection ceremony and took on a registered disciple.

*Technically a pseudo-older-gong-younger-shou pairing: Xiao Yan is a spell cultivator, and Yu is a sword cultivator.

*Tianji is the third star of the Big Dipper. I think Tianji sounds better than Tianxuan, so Yu is the Master of Tianji Peak.

*Very conventional, with a fondness for old tropes.

*There might, perhaps, possibly be some cultivation-level progression, but the romance is the main focus.

*Today as always, Xun'er and Cai Lin are considered family and friends.

*Some settings have been concealed to avoid spoilers, though they should be as easy to guess as ever.

Theme: The sword is the sovereign of all weapons.
