When You Say That, It Really Hurts

Blurb:

One day, eight years into their marriage, Ye Nanqin wearily complained that his boss was impossible to deal with and that he didn't want to keep working at the company.

His husband, Zhuang Yi, who had grown up with him, listened and immediately scolded him.

"Can't stick it out again? If you keep being so mediocre and making no effort to improve, society will leave you behind sooner or later."

Ye Nanqin slumped in his chair, thinking that of course it would be like this.

His husband would never learn to speak gently, would never learn to say something sweet to comfort him.

When he was young, Ye Nanqin had thought Zhuang Yi was aloof and charismatic, and had loved him like a madman. But married life became harder to endure with every passing day, and he had nothing to look forward to.

So he said in despair, "Then let's get divorced. I can't stick it out with you anymore, either."
