Haze Over the Basin

[Gentle schemer x tsundere heiress]

After graduating from college, Xue Buwan is hounded by her family to go on blind dates. Unable to stand up to them, she can only agree to meet the person they've picked.

The moment she sees her date's face, she wants to turn around and leave.

You've got to be kidding me. Why is it her ex?

Her date, seeing Xue Buwan's face, freezes for a moment, then smiles faintly.

"Old classmate, long time no see."

Xue Buwan forces herself to greet him, and the whole dinner is painfully awkward.

She looks at Xie Wan, who was her high school classmate, college classmate, ex, and even changed his name in college, then remembers that after they broke up, she publicly declared, "Love is smog: it exists, and it's harmful."

She's doomed. How is she going to tell her mother that this blind date is her ex-boyfriend?

And she really doesn't want to date anyone.

That same night, after Xie Wan gets home, his mother comes into his room and asks how the blind date went.

Xie Wan: "She's so cute, just like before."

Xie Wan: "I can't bring her home just yet. I'll work on that later."

Much later, Xie Wan wraps his arms around Xue Buwan from behind and repeats, "Love is smog: it exists, and it's harmful."

Xue Buwan: "I take it back, qwq."

Who knew that after they broke up, she'd post a totally random message on her social media,

only to get caught by her ex-boyfriend?

Love is smog: it exists, and it's harmful.

You can't escape it, so you might as well give in.
