Preparing for the Civil Service Exam Through History Livestreams

If you take civil service exams, you are a civil service exam soul. Everyone who takes them is destined for greatness.

Gu Peipei is one of those unlucky people who has taken the exam again and again without ever passing.

Every time, general knowledge is what trips her up.

After reflecting on her failures, Gu Peipei starts livestreaming her general knowledge study sessions.

To her surprise, her livestream is projected into every dynasty.

First livestream:

The civil service exam is a way to select public officials. It tests administrative aptitude and essay writing.

Ying Zheng: Those bookish pursuits are trivial. In Great Qin, rewarding military service and granting noble ranks according to merit is the way to go.

Liu Zhi: How can answering questions test someone's character?

Wang Dao: How can commoners be allowed to rise above their station?

Yang Guang: I was right, hahaha.

The streamer: The civil service exam has an age limit. You must be under 35 to apply.

Er Feng: Astonishing! At fifty, you're still considered young to pass the imperial exam. How can there be an age limit?

The streamer: The civil service exam is open to all genders.

A Wu: I knew it. Women can serve as officials too.

Second livestream:

The streamer: The world is made of matter.

Wang Yangming: Absurd! There is no thing outside the mind, and no principle outside the mind.

Wang Fuzhi throws his head back and cries out: Everything that exists between heaven and earth is a concrete, tangible thing.

From politics to history, from culture to geography, from mathematics to physics, and from science to chemistry, Gu Peipei's livestream opens one door after another to a whole new world for the people of the past.
