Playing the Dice in Witch Society

Reader advisory: Please read the content warnings before deciding whether to open this story! A story about witches, with a somewhat slice-of-life feel and a vast world. The heroine's faction is chaotic neutral. This is a very long story! Witches are a race aligned with chaotic evil, and they really are evil! A gentle approach, no made-up jargon. Please don't flame me. This story puts witches above all, not women above all. Witches enslave humans and other races. At its core, this is class oppression and racism. Witches are evil. Witches are a plague. Witches are a force that sweeps all before them. Witches are witches. Long lives, eternal beauty, vast knowledge, immense power, and death transcended in their everyday existence: that is what witches are. They are an incurable cancer upon the universe, a single-sex civilization of spellcasters that originated on Earth. They denounce the gods as false gods. They plunder. They conquer. False gods fear them, heroes hate them, and the will of the multiverse is enslaved by witches. The Dice Tower Witch shares its authority with every witch. Fate and probability become the witches' dice, rolled by the Dice Tower Witch for all witches. Welcome to the world of witches. Magic is omnipotent, and witch society is highly scientific. The parts involving Bayes' theorem won't be particularly rigorous. Some parts have been modified. The main idea is that probability measures subjective belief, and the outcome is based on prior events and personal will. In this setting, magic has the properties of energy, matter, and information at the same time. The protagonist is a British witch. Earth's history diverged after people became witches, and some historical figures have also become witches. About this story's worldbuilding: The structure of witch society, racial traits, some folk customs and Cat Lantern details, and some parts of the power system are inspired by the pioneering witch story Everyone Is a Witch in 1994. For more witch-fiction recommendations, see the comments on chapter one. Praise be to the Great Cat! The Sevenfold Universe, the will of the multiverse, and most of the power system are adapted from the worlds of DND and COC, the settings of two tabletop role-playing systems. The Great Cat also drew on these classics. Other adaptations include some professions from Magic: The Gathering, such as Planeswalkers and the deep crimson marquess, a variation on the Vanguard. The Dice Tower Witch profession system is adapted from scientific theories and hypotheses such as the Copenhagen interpretation, string theory, and Bayes' theorem. Some ideas, such as the uniqueness of photons, also come from scientific hypotheses. This is why the book is categorized under Future Fantasy. The author studied science and engineering. The details of witch origins and some witch customs are adapted from history or created by the author. These include the Dice Tower Witches' historical customs, the witches' Wu Zhou dynasty, the tradition of hidden savings, the City Without Light, the magical girl profession, the winged fairy race's traits, and the origins of the Star-Chasing Pact witch alliance. The origin of the Nymph Witches was co-created with the reader Ying Shuanghan. Almost all of the witch history in this book is original. The Great Cat's framework has too many continuity errors, so the history buffs had to make things up themselves! Meow! Later in the story, some aspects of witch society and its factions may change. These parts come from the author's own fantasies and limited understanding of future society, so please consider them critically. Content warnings: 1. I won't accept unreasonable writing advice. The author has been diagnosed with severe depression and has had it for six years, so please choose your words carefully. 2. Girls being affectionate with girls. The heroine has no love interest, but others have one-sided crushes on her. 3. Everyone in this setting is a witch, and witches reproduce with witch eggs. Please leave if you can't accept this! Note that this is a lesbian society! A lesbian society! When a single-sex race forms relationships within itself, its members also look at one another. The author is a lesbian, and lesbians really do notice other women's bodies, looks, and clothes! Don't act as if lesbians aren't women! The story includes lesbian perspectives and preferences. Please leave immediately if you can't accept that! 4. The witches are cruel, cruel, cruel. They treat other races as less than human. Please be prepared! It's brutal! It's bloody! You have been warned! 5. The story includes discussions of racial oppression, colonialism, and class struggle. Please prepare yourself before reading. 6. The heroine is imperfect! Please don't judge her too harshly on moral grounds! Her conscience will gradually disappear... 7. Do not stir up conflict in the comments. Do not stigmatize women's rights. Comments of that nature will be deleted. 8. This book has 80% anti-piracy protection. Please support the original. That's all. Theme: Don't give in to fate.
