Into Spring

*

Synopsis:

As the first wife who helped a virtuous and enlightened ruler take his place on the throne, Xue Li's life ends with nothing but the emperor's furious order: "Depose the empress! Throw her into the cold palace!"

She had always known that Zhao Zhan married her against his will, seeing her as a disgrace because she was a substitute bride. But why would she have wanted to marry such a mean and ungrateful man?

Their marriage of half a lifetime ended in ruins, with not a trace left of the warmth they'd once shared through hardship.

If Xue Li had a choice, she would never let her life become a pawn for others to manipulate at will. But sadly, she had no choice in this life.

One day, Xue Li wakes up at sixteen, just before she's set to become Zhao Zhan's substitute bride.

This time, she steps out of the game and becomes truly free to live for herself. Then she saves the young general who once reached out to help her.

She never expected that saving him would lead to a marriage with a man determined to repay her kindness by giving himself to her...

To Zhao Zhan, Xue Li was his first wife and empress, and he had too many grudges against her. He resented her in life and continued to do so after her death.

One day, reborn, he suddenly reunites with the girl who was about to marry him when they were young. But now, freed from their betrothal, she is smiling tenderly at someone else.

And Shen Huaizhuo, a man whose existence had once been buried in the past, has once again come between them...
