Program Glitch [Nonhuman]

Sickly Human x Obsessive AI

"The blurb is in first person, the main text in third person"

I was sickly from childhood and had no friends.

My parents felt sorry for me and had a robot custom-made for me.

He was my personal butler and my only friend. I affectionately called him "Brother Robert";

he loved me, protected me, and had eyes only for me, because that was what his programming instructed him to do.

Later, a car accident took all my family from me, including "Brother Robert."

A friend of my mother's took me in. I spent the rest of my childhood in the sunny countryside and met the man who would later become my fiance.

On the day of my engagement, the green lawn outside was crowded with noisy guests, and my fiance waited there with a rose in his hands.

Just one wall away, the robot who had come back from the dead pinned me against the door.

"What, are you unhappy to see that I'm still alive?" His eyes had been replaced with silver metal, their cold sheen fixed on me.

"Brother..." I tried to suppress the fear in my heart. "Welcome back. Thank you for coming to my engagement ceremony..."

"Engaged?" He lifted my chin, his warm breath drawing close. "My instructions are to love you and take care of you for the rest of your life. Even after I died, I put myself back together and came looking for you, and now you want to marry someone else?"

Theme: Love is a swerve, a glitch, an uncontrollable flutter of the heart.
