Prince Yan Won't Leave Me Alone

[The story of the heroine's parents in Song of Longing for Xie Zhaoning]

The year the Hu people marched south and seized the Han people's lands,

Qi'er, a farm girl from Hejian, was captured and taken to a Hu military camp as a servant, where she remained for several years.

While surviving in that living hell, she taught herself how to be an excellent undercover agent.

The new Han dynasty had just been established. The legendary Prince of Yan, Huo Xuan, who had conquered half the realm, had already marched north to reclaim the lost lands.

Qi'er did everything she could to contact him, repeatedly sending word of the Hu people's movements in time and helping him swiftly seize three prefectures in the northern frontier.

But to her surprise, from the very day the war ended in victory, the Prince of Yan wouldn't leave her alone:

"Miss Qi, won't you take a look at me?"

The battle-hardened prince, a lord of a different surname, had abandoned his usual solemn demeanor. Every day, he showed up at her window with a flower in his mouth and a shameless grin, and no amount of shooing could make him go away.

"Look at me!"

"I refuse to believe your eyes are empty!"

Qi'er: "..."

She couldn't exactly say they were. To be fair, the Prince of Yan really was a handsome man.
