The Little Sparrow and Mother Tree

A little sparrow hatches in spring and loves the fresh green leaves on Mother Tree. It wants a coat of fresh green feathers, too.

But Mother Tree tells the little sparrow that it can't grow fresh green feathers.

The little sparrow really wants to know why, so Mother Tree makes a deal with it: they'll go through all four seasons together.

In the end, the little sparrow still hasn't grown fresh green feathers. But it loves the leaves even more now, and thinks they're the most delightful gift of all!
