Virtual Pet Satoru Gojo!

Noriko is an ordinary high school student at Teitan High.

Her favorite things to do are play games and watch movies, the kinds of relaxing pastimes she shares with her cousin, Suzuki Sonoko.

Recently, a virtual pet game has become popular online. Its biggest selling point is that your choices shape your electronic pet, making it unique to you alone.

In the game, you need to farm, run a shop, and deliver food every day to earn coins, so your electronic pet can live a better life.

Noriko looks at the little black house and grits her teeth as she buys the six-yuan first-purchase bonus pack.

She's always been free-to-play! Getting her to spend money is no small feat!

After being sealed inside the Prison Realm, Gojo Satoru thought he was in for endless darkness.

But he hadn't expected that while the first day was just like that, light would shine into his little room on the second day.

A window had been added, along with a bed, though it was the cheapest one in the System shop.

Fully aware of his current situation, Gojo Satoru lounges on the bed, hoping his owner will earn enough to buy him a shower.

He hasn't showered in two days.

He can see the quests, after all. He only has to grow two more batches of carrots to buy the cheapest shower.

He'd always assumed his little owner was a girl from an average-income family, and never complained that she didn't spend money on the game, until... he saw her bank balance through her phone.

Gojo Satoru, who had always thought everyone adored him, fell silent.

Seriously, what would it hurt to spend a little of that money on him?!

What would it hurt?!

The whole game doesn't cost as much as her monthly allowance!

Noriko patiently looks after her little pet, though for some reason his mood has been staying rather low lately.

Every now and then, he even glares at her through the screen.

How strange. The fridge is full, the bedding is changed every three days, the temperature is just right, he's not sick, and none of the appliances are broken.

So what could be wrong?
