Afterheat Storm

Highly proactive rescue team captain x Tsundere, sharp-tongued math teacher. 1 Eight years after they parted, Tang Wan's reunion with her old flame is anything but graceful. She has just finished a rescue mission. She's in a hurry and a mess, while Jiang Ning sits in an air-conditioned office, makeup perfect, with a half-unwrapped Valentine's gift on her desk. Tang Wan needs a favor, and Jiang Ning means to make her work for it. "Call me baby, and I'll help you." The price is simple, but mocking. "Then... baby?" Tang Wan leans to her ear and whispers softly, her teeth grazing the rim of it. Her sexy voice is full of feigned affection, making Jiang Ning's gaze darken. 2 What Tang Wan expects from a reunion after all these years: deliberate obstruction, underhanded tricks, and snide remarks. What their reunion is actually like: "Miss Tang, meet me at the hotel tonight, hmm?" To discuss business, don't get the wrong idea. "Miss Tang, why don't you come over to my place this weekend?" It wouldn't be appropriate in front of your daughter. "Miss Tang, we're both women. It's perfectly normal to be honest with each other..." Tang Wan: I understand the logic, but why are your pajamas getting thinner and thinner? 3 Everyone on the rescue team knows that Captain Tang Wan wears a pocket watch all the time. Its design is exactly the same as the old tattoo that's been washed off her shoulder. Even when the whole team was caught in a rainstorm that year and buried underground, she risked her life to go back and find the pocket watch she'd lost. The team members say in private that there must be someone in her life she can never forget. A young woman who just joined the team owes Tang Wan her life, and has been secretly in love with her for six months. At a gathering after narrowly escaping death, the young woman summons her courage and confesses. Tang Wan calmly studies her for a long moment, then asks, "What do you like about me?" Blushing, the young woman says, "You're brave, capable, and always kind to everyone." Tang Wan smiles softly, but her eyes have lost their warmth. She says, "Before she and I parted, I wasn't like this." She says, "Even now, she's still my baby." * Your answer is the storm that will sweep through the rest of my life. * Main couple: Both are each other's first, happy ending.
