The Concert at the End of the Century

Shen Liangsi and Yu Jiashu met when they had next to nothing.

Back then, one sang at a bar and the other had just arrived in Hong Kong for work. Every night, Yu Jiashu would sit quietly in the audience and listen to Shen Liangsi sing.

Later, Shen Liangsi became famous across the country, and Yu Jiashu quit her job to become Shen's assistant.

"I'll be in the audience at every one of your concerts, until you no longer need me."

For fourteen years, even the fans considered them a couple.

The last concert of the twentieth century was Shen Liangsi's farewell performance.

Onstage, she sang "Lovers of the Century" with heart-wrenching passion, like a tremendous storm drenching the entire stadium.

But the seat that was always reserved for her, Row 1, Seat 3, was empty.
