I, Lin Chuxia, am a second-generation overseas Chinese.
I inherited the fine traditions of my Chinese parents, and I've always had a passion for studying.
From childhood to adulthood, I've always strived to come first in every exam.
I have a childhood friend named Jingguang. He was pretty cute when we were little, but once we started school, he began competing with me for first place.
And so my childhood friend became my lifelong rival.
Later, my parents' jobs were transferred, and I moved from Nagano to Tokyo. I thought no one would stand in the way of my taking first place anymore. But on the very first day of the new school year, I saw a familiar face at school: my childhood friend.
Well, I never expected this guy to transfer, too.
That would have been bad enough, but there's also a blond jerk at school. Now there are two people competing with me for first place!
Who could possibly put up with that?
I worked hard and redoubled my efforts, determined to trample the two guys who were stealing first place from me.
But then both of them confessed to me one after the other!
This has to be a scheme to trick me out of first place!
I'm not falling for it!
I complained about this to my childhood friend's older brother, who's currently studying at the University of Tokyo.
He agreed with me wholeheartedly and thought, just like I did, that I should focus on my studies.
I felt like I'd finally found someone who understood me.
So, Big Brother, can you tell me what's up with this Valentine's chocolate you gave me?
Something is definitely wrong here!
