The Princess and the Raven

One stormy day, Xiang Li witnessed a usually gentle, reserved top student fighting back against some hooligans with violence.

The boy in the rain had a chilling look in his eyes, just like a character from the manga she loved.

If it happened now, Xiang Li would turn and get as far away from a violent delinquent as she could.

But back then, she must have had water on the brain.

She fell for him at first sight,

and spent the whole night coming up with a hundred ways to pursue her crush.

Just as she reached the thirty-ninth method,

he transferred schools.

Years later,

every time Xiang Li thought of that guide to winning him over,

she cringed so hard she couldn't sleep.

But it seemed fate was determined to mess with her.

By a twist of fate, their studios ended up working together.

Her embarrassing past was right in front of her, smiling just like back then. “Want to keep going?”

Xiang Li: “Huh?”

Ying Liyu pulled out a little booklet she'd thrown in the trash years ago.

“...”

Later, a rumor spread through the comics world about “a thirsty editor pouncing on a gorgeous comic artist.” No one ever figured out who it was about.

At a comics convention, the host teased Ying Liyu.

“Teacher Gui Niao, have you heard that story?”

Ying Liyu: “I have, but the version going around doesn't match what really happened.”

The host eagerly pressed on: “Could it be that you know the truth?”

Ying Liyu glanced at the silent, scowling editor beside her, a smile playing at the corners of her eyes. “I was the thirsty one.”
