I Became a Film Queen After Ghosting My Readers

Tong Yao is a full-time writer. Whenever she runs out of inspiration, she goes out and experiences her characters' lives firsthand.

So she went to a film and television studio to work as an extra.

Later, her readers didn't see a trace of her for nearly half a year.

Later still, someone dug up the fact that this year's Best Actress at the Jin Award was the bestselling author who had ghosted her readers for a whole year.

And later, her readers discovered that she'd not only ghosted them, she'd also run off with their male idol.

Director: "Go back and read the original a few more times. Figure out what the author intended with this scene."

Tong Yao: "Trust me, it was just padding to hit the word count."

Someone looked at the script the two of them were working on and complained, "Why don't the original's leads have a kissing scene?"

Tong Yao: "We'll add one. Right away."

At six, a group of kids played house.

Little young master Yu Yi picked out a bride for himself and fell for Zhao Xingning, the nanny's daughter, at first sight.

Unfortunately, Zhao Xingning liked the big brother next door more and "ran away from the wedding" on the spot.

At eighteen, on the day the college entrance exams ended.

Yu Yi tried every roundabout way he could think of to confess to Zhao Xingning.

But then her gentle senior appeared out of nowhere and whisked her away.

At twenty-six, the childhood friends met again, both still single.

By then, the little young master had evolved into a domineering CEO. He was busy running a company, yet somehow obsessed with checking in at flower shops.

Zhao Xingning: "I think people should date within their own social class."

Yu Yi: "You lived at my house for eighteen years. Our doors and households match perfectly."

Zhao Xingning sighed. "But what if I can't forget my senior?"

Yu Yi angrily pinched her cheek. "Quit lying to me. That crappy game shut down years ago."

Theme: Be independent and self-reliant, keep your feet on the ground, and make your own way as a woman
