Ji Yuhuai,
A peerless genius famed throughout the immortal sects, with raven-black hair, a snow-bright sword, and breathtaking grace.
After demonic cultivators poisoned him, he used all his cultivation to suppress the vengeful ghost inside him and withdrew from the world. Gradually, no one remembered his name anymore.
It should have stayed that way.
Until one day,
Ji Yuhuai awoke in the sect's place of exile and, bristling with shock, discovered that his cave abode, which hadn't even had a stone chair, had become a luxurious white-jade immortal residence, with visitors streaming in and out.
He'd also acquired a fiancé, supposedly deeply in love with him: his master's youngest disciple, who had trained tirelessly and already comprehended the supreme sword intent.
After repeatedly confirming the story with everyone in the sect, Ji Yuhuai finally understood that he'd lost a portion of his memories.
It was now ten years later. Somehow, his physical condition had been cured, and his fiancé was real.
He really had gotten engaged to his junior sect brother, his master's youngest disciple. Their ceremony to become cultivation partners was only six months away.
Ji Yuhuai was shocked.
Ji Yuhuai panicked and bristled.
He packed his storage ring and life-bound sword, then asked his master for permission to travel for half a year and sort out his thoughts. He would give an answer when the time was up.
He hadn't even stepped out of the mountain gate when a young swordsman in fitted black clothes, his hair tied in a high ponytail, came sprinting over and stumbled down from his Dark Sword.
His ink-black eyes were fixed solely on Ji Yuhuai, his expression desolate, confused, and anxious.
At last, he raised his voice to say just one sentence, then bowed deeply:
“Senior Brother, would you let me come with you?”
Was this the diligent junior swordsman?
Ji Yuhuai felt a strange ache in his chest. Confused and uncertain, he gave a small nod.
*
Every journey must eventually end.
Ji Yuhuai wanted to see the abyss where the vengeful ghosts originated, and discover how his condition had been cured.
He also wanted to... find out just where this junior brother of his had come from, a swordsman who had reached the Golden Core at three, ascended at a hundred, and attained supreme sword intent in only three hundred years.
Amid the countless lights of mortal cities,
Ji Yuhuai was staying at an inn when his tall, broad-shouldered junior brother pulled him into his arms. Half-resisting, half-willing, Ji Yuhuai let him cling close and kiss his fingertips, his hair, and his cool lips.
The young man in fitted black clothes was devout and intent, gently coaxing him in a low voice:
“We used to kiss every morning. If we do it a few more times, maybe your memories will come back sooner, Senior Brother?”
Ji Yuhuai didn't understand, but the kisses left him dazed. Even with his fingers pressed to the man's chest, he couldn't bring himself to push him away.
“Senior Brother, look at me a little longer...”
“Senior Brother, touch me.”
“Is this okay, Senior Brother?”
Could this really be okay?
Ji Yuhuai couldn't make sense of it, but he was coaxed into agreeing to everything in the end.
*
At the summit of Pure Snow Mountain, where immortal aura could not reach,
Ji Yuhuai finally recovered all his memories and remembered how his body, which could sustain ghosts, had been cured.
The snow-lotus on his life-bound sword blossomed. He held his beloved, whose lifespan was now bound to his own, and released into the world every vengeful ghost that had been drawn out of his lover during those ten years, transforming them all.
The ice and snow melted, and everything returned to where it belonged.
Their entwined kisses swallowed a faint sob. Between broken breaths, Ji Yuhuai gave a soft, breathless laugh:
“...Th-then... we can go back to the sect and get married, husband.”
[The original novel's beautiful, tragic villain: awakens to his own consciousness but forgets ten years of love with the Dragon-Proud Protagonist; a sickly senior-brother gong & the Dragon-Proud Protagonist's path takes a sharp turn; falls into his senior brother's trap; an affectionate, straightforward puppy-like shou who transmigrated into a book and became a sword-path supreme]
*The senior-brother gong is a native of this world. The Dragon-Proud Protagonist shou was transmigrated into a fetus, but the original plot is barely relevant.
*At heart, this is a fluffy story about two people who love each other wholeheartedly!
*The immortal and mortal realms have plenty of original worldbuilding, so don't expect historical accuracy.
*One-on-one romance, happy ending.
Theme: Love, and gently touch the person you love.
