El is a hardcore overachiever. As long as working himself to death doesn't kill him, he'll work even harder.
And so he worked himself to death.
He died, but not completely.
He closed his eyes, opened them again, and became a lazy, unambitious evil god. He saw himself seated on a lofty divine throne, along with an altar that had gathered a thick layer of dust because no one cared about it, as he was too obscure to attract any worshippers.
...And the bizarre colleagues around him.
Chaotic Evil Colleague A loved stirring up trouble. Every day, he donned a secret identity, went to human society to cause a scene and watch the commotion, sparing no effort to make trouble for himself, others, and his own father. Even after getting wiped out time and again, he still couldn't get enough.
Social Butterfly Colleague B spent every day shipping couples. They liked locking one pair of future lovebirds after another in strange hotel rooms to watch them grow closer, and had secretly published countless fanbooks as a hugely popular creator.
Highly Educated Colleague C loved helping people, regularly stuffing his own followers' heads full of knowledge. He was old enough to know better, yet had two very different sides to him. Worst of all, his son had been bitten to death by a dog.
And so on and so forth.
Besides them, there was also a group of eldritch beings and minions who never did their actual jobs, preferring to observe humanity and conduct all sorts of bizarre research. They were always slacking off, and no one had ever outdone them.
El: It's hopeless. Stop trying to fix it. Just wait to die.

But you should love the work you do. So the former overachiever decided to put his all into his job, leading by example, promoting civility and new social mores, and restoring the evil gods' good name.
Stir things up! Make a big scene! Destroy things! Take over the world!
He worked and worked and worked, and finally began to make a name for himself. When he slowly emerged from a summoning circle and saw the believers before him, he couldn't stop his tears of joy. There really was a future for his career after all!!!
Believer A: My great lord, I'm sorry to bother you, but I have a favor to ask... I want you to bring my wife back to life!
El: ?
Believer B: I don't really want anything. It's just that the spellbook is so beautiful.
El: ??
Believer C: When I first saw your tentacles, hehe, how should I put this...
El: ??????????
Stay back! Aaaaaah!

Many years later.
A newly joined worshipper bowed reverently before the statue, and said in admiration how their supreme Lord of the Starry Sky had turned a once obscure little cult into a mighty organization, creating such a harmonious and unified community
El: ...
Haha.
If I told you it was all thanks to a heart of golden justice and courage, would you believe me.jpg
Reader's notes:
1. Lovecraftian, but not serious. I just want to stir up trouble, as you can see: pure comedy.
2. The evil gods who appear are basically only borrowing the names, so even if you don't know Lovecraftian mythology, you can jump right in.
3. The group openly bullies and secretly adores their leader. It's a team-up story about evil god colleagues. The CP is undecided, and it's more of an ensemble cast. Whoever ends up together, ends up together.
Theme: Love the work you do, and be a good role model in your industry
