[Coming Soon]
After inheriting a five-hundred-billion fortune, Hanami Ruri becomes an executive at a port trade company.
She's passionate about writing and hunting for inspiration. In her daily life, she's completely unproductive, and in the organization, she's a bona fide figurehead executive.
In search of fresh inspiration, Hanami Ruri moves to Namimori Town, where she meets someone who seems perfect for her to study and observe.
None other than Namimori Middle School's famous good-for-nothing Tsuna.
She has never seen anyone so good-for-nothing. Surely he must be a rare subject for her research, one of a kind in the whole world.
For inspiration, for research, Hanami Ruri chases the good-for-nothing Tsuna around every day.
As the subject of her observations, Tsunayoshi is naturally flustered and troubled, and tries every trick he can think of to shake her off.
She chases, he runs, and he can't escape even if he grows wings.
Until one day, Hanami Ruri discovers that the good-for-nothing Tsuna isn't actually good-for-nothing.
He can set things on fire, he can fly, and he's great at fighting.
How disappointing. He's not really a good-for-nothing after all.
Hanami Ruri is terribly disappointed.
She's leaving.
"Wait, Ruri!" Tsuna runs after her, trying to grab her, but trips over his own feet and face-plants.
Hanami Ruri's eyes light up: "!"
Sure, he can set things on fire, fly, and fight really well!
But he's still a good-for-nothing!
The day Hanami Ruri met him was an ordinary day.
The boy his classmates called Good-for-Nothing Tsuna went through another day of bad luck as usual: failing an exam, messing up the vault, and tripping flat on his face while running...
He was used to it by now.
He felt it was an unlucky day, but that was all.
On his way home, he saw movers going in and out of the house next door and went over for a closer look out of curiosity--
And, unsurprisingly, he fell over.
It really was an unlucky day.
He made his usual self-deprecating joke.
"You..."
His new neighbor walked toward him.
She crouched down, lowered her sunglasses, and stared at him with her catlike, heterochromatic eyes.
For some reason, he felt embarrassed. He hurriedly tried to get up, but she stopped him.
The girl cupped his face in both hands. Her radiant, sun-bright face broke into a smile as she said, "You're special."
He froze.
From that day on, the girl who kept saying he was special followed him everywhere.
The boy didn't know what to do.
His heart raced, yet he wanted to run away.
He wanted to get closer, but feared that one day she'd realize what a hopeless good-for-nothing he was.
Torn, he stood still and accepted everything the girl gave him.
The good and the bad...
He couldn't refuse any of it.
The boy nicknamed Good-for-Nothing Tsuna longed to show her that he could be someone she relied on, yet feared that she'd leave once he was no longer "special."
But no matter how much he feared it, that day would come.
Just as the boy had expected, when Hanami Ruri realized he was no longer "special," she decided to leave.
"Wait, Ruri!"
He couldn't bear to see the girl's bright, passionate gaze turn toward someone else.
Even though Good-for-Nothing Tsuna was no longer the same as before,
he was still greedy enough to wish that time would stand still and that Hanami Ruri's gaze would remain on him forever.
A few things to know before reading:
* 27 has a very low sense of self-worth. Even when he likes a girl, he won't confess first. At most, he'll watch her from afar. If she falls for someone else, he'll keep his feelings to himself and quietly deal with them alone. So I think it's really sweet if he can work up the courage to ask Ruri to stay on his own, without R's help.
* It starts with the girl chasing the boy, then the boy chasing the girl. Basically, it's just the emotional push and pull between two young people.
Theme: Writing lovely words for the world.
