The Person Secretly Living in My House

Xu Zhimian first realized something was wrong

when the toothbrush cup's handle was at a different angle from usual.

Clothes she'd forgotten to put away appeared in the wardrobe,

and expired instant noodles lay in the trash.

At last,

a little marble that had rolled under the sofa was shining on her bedside table.

Xu Zhimian could no longer pretend she hadn't noticed,

so she installed a security camera at home.

When she watched the footage for the first time,

the creepy weirdo she'd expected to see never appeared.

Instead, a little sheep-shaped dust cloth floated over a dusty crystal ornament.

Oh, so the place was haunted.

Xu Zhimian finally understood.

.

The girl who had always acted as if he didn't exist seemed to be able to see him now.

Tan Mingjue was quite troubled by this.

"I'm going to be late. Where are my keys?"

Xu Zhimian was running around again.

Tan Mingjue floated to the entryway. Keeping a polite and careful distance of one meter, he secretly slipped the little sheep keychain she'd left in the dining room into Xu Zhimian's bag.

Xu Zhimian's face flushed faintly.

Tan Mingjue pondered this.

It really seemed like she could see him now.

Would she chase this poor, homeless ghost away?

He'd spent so many years looking after this home. He might not deserve a medal, but surely he deserved some credit.

"Since you still couldn't see me back then," Tan Mingjue asked, "why did you blush when I brought you your keys?"

"Because I couldn't see you, so it felt super naughty," Xu Zhimian answered matter-of-factly.
