Synopsis
A possessive, troublemaking, sharp-tongued wolf demon gong × a laid-back, powerful shou with an overactive imagination, who adores his husband and is a furry enthusiast.
**
Erwang was a half-demon of mixed blood who woke up suddenly after sleeping for a thousand years. The first thing he did was look for the husband he had wed before Heaven and Earth. But before he could even set out, he was forced to work for the country and sign an unequal agreement: his entire past was classified, and any mention of it would bring down a lightning strike.
The wolf gritted his teeth. Can't tell him who I am to his face? Fine. I'll endure it until I'm free to go find my beloved.
As if things weren't bad enough, his husband's memories had been sealed! But it was all right. His husband was a furry enthusiast, and the wolf was confident: As long as I still have my tail and ears, it won't be hard to make him fall in love with me again.
Of course, when it rains, it pours. His husband said he was already married.
The wolf (in despair): Cheater! Heartless man! Men are all pigs!
Boss Du, holding up his wedding ring (seriously): ? I've only ever had one wife, even though she's missing. Handsome, I could sue you for defamation.
The wolf, in his head (furious): Your wife is me! You idiot! I'm so mad!
And that wasn't all. His once hardworking, brilliant husband, an overachiever who couldn't stop working, had become the king of lazybones: slick, lazy, and neglecting his duties!
The wolf (shocked): Cheater! Heartless man! Men really do change after marriage!
Boss Du (angry): What makes you say I've changed? Do you know what I was like before? I don't even know what I was like before!
The wolf (angry): Because I'm your $#%*@###...%$% (the Heavenly Dao censors him)
The wolf (hurt): My heart is broken. What happened to all those vows? To loving me forever? Liar.
Boss Du (panicked): ? (Looking at the wolf's dull, faded fur, he suddenly wonders why he feels a little sorry for him.)
Erwang resolves to restore his partner's memories at all costs. And so
Boss Du (horrified): I suspect that new recruit who parachuted into our bureau is trying to kill me. He draws talismans on my door in the middle of the night, puts blood in my water cup, and even, even, even... takes his clothes off to seduce me! I want to report him!
The wolf (furious): Cheater! Big liar! I'll make you pay dearly for breaking your vows!
Boss Du (cowardly): What did I tell you? He really is trying to kill me. I'm getting out of here.
The wolf (menacingly): Go ahead and try.
Boss Du (defiantly): Fine, I'll try! There's nothing in this world that scares Du Wuchen!
Later, under the relentless advances of a certain furry-loving man surnamed Du, whose memories had returned, the wolf fell for him all over again, wagging his tail with shining eyes. "I love it when my husband strokes my fur!"

Former director of the Abnormality Investigation Bureau, Du Wuchen, has three great mysteries about him:
One: A memory gap like the surface of the moon. He remembers everything upsetting and forgets everything important.
Two: An incurable obsession with fluffy things. He can't walk past something furry without stopping. But when he tries to adopt one, none of them seem right. He claims it's an example of loving dragons but fearing them.
Three: A wedding ring engraved with his name and someone else's. It must belong to his wife, but damn it, not only has he lost her, he has also forgotten who she is.
So Du Wuchen sets out to find his wife, ring in hand.
Until one day, a handsome man with a huge fluffy tail and wolf ears confesses, "Darling, I'm your wife."
Du Wuchen: I think the gender's wrong, and maybe the species too.
Later: Big wolf, so fluffy. His fur is so soft.
Bonus scenes:
1. About tokens of love:
Passerby A: This is my token of love. Passerby A produces a sparkling necklace.
Passerby B: This is my token of love. Passerby B shows off a sparkling watch on his wrist.
The wolf: This is my token of love. Erwang takes a laminated, sparkling QR code out of his pocket.
Boss Du: That's my payment code. Thanks.
2. About wedding rings:
Boss Du: Is it possible that my wife isn't a woman, which is why I can't find her?
Colleague: Maybe.
Boss Du: Then is it also possible that my wife isn't human? I've been looking in the wrong direction all these years.
Colleague: Probably.
Boss Du: Maybe, probably... maybe my wife isn't human or a demon, but is something in between.
Colleague: You might as well give me our captain's ID number! He's the only half-demon in the world!
3. About being a furry enthusiast:
Coworker A: Is Boss Du planning to get a dog? Why did he buy so many books about dogs?
Coworker B: How to Build a Deep Bond with Your Dog, How to Quickly Recognize Canine Emotions, Stories of Wolves... Boss Du, are you opening a zoo?
Boss Du (seriously): No. I'm just learning how to date.
Big Wolf: I'm a demon, not an animal!
Boss Du (reaching out): Pet.jpg
Big Wolf: ...That feels so good.
4. About hair:
Friend A: Boss Du, shopping for bath products again? You're almost a VIP here.
Boss Du: Yeah, I need some hair-care products.
Friend A: You bought a whole case last month... Did you use it all already?
Boss Du: My partner has a lot of fur, so it goes fast. The most expensive one, twenty cases.
Friend A: ... (Thinking: Your partner must be unemployed.)
At home, Boss Du strokes the wolf's sleek, fluffy tail and sighs. "For fur care, expensive products are the way to go."
One-on-one romance, happy ending guaranteed.

Reader's tips:
1. A serious story.
2. Each other's first love, and they help each other grow.
3. There will be plenty of descriptions of the gong's fluffy tail, furry ears, and so on.
4. A slow burn.
5. Both are powerful and devoted to each other. Pretty shou, beautiful gong. **Important note: The shou is very convinced he's the "1" (but can't get it up if he actually tries to top). The gong has a strange reaction to being called "wife," and outsiders generally assume their roles are the opposite of what they really are. These are my personal preferences, so no role reversal or switching.
*Important! 6. Because the story includes amnesia, there are angsty scenes where the shou falls in love with the gong again and feels tormented by the thought that he's being unfaithful to the "wife" in his own obsession (who is actually the gong). It's a kind of self-inflicted love triangle. If that's not your thing, please take note.
*Important! 7. If you're strongly attached to either the gong or the shou, please choose carefully. Both leads are very stubborn, and misunderstandings that they can't explain will get extremely angsty. There are many, many scenes where they hurt each other without meaning to. This isn't a purely sweet story. I often felt my heart and liver ache while writing it, and enjoyed it.
8. These are probably the main things that could be controversial. A character's values don't represent the author's. If a really awful character shows up, please blame them, not the author.

Thesis: Love remains true
