A Heartbeat in Storage

[Could you clear out your notes? You're running out of storage.]

What's it like to share a notes app with a stranger in a different time period? My 512 GB phone can handle anything, while the other person's 64 GB phone is completely bricked.

Now that the notes app has an audience, Jiang Qie finds it hard to stop rambling.

The blue sky in the morning, the cute upperclassman dog at school, the overpriced and awful cafeteria food, the hot pot restaurant with no service to speak of, her butchered bangs...

The other person is terribly boring. He never shares anything about his life, only going on and on about the difference in the flow of time between their worlds. He calculates that two of Jiang Qie's days equal one of his, and that by the time 2024 comes around, everything about the notes app might disappear.

He also discovers that the notes app can't convey special information. For example, he can't send winning lottery numbers. Even changing the digits to homophones doesn't get them through.

Jiang Qie is deeply moved. "Once I'm rich, I'll get you a 1 TB phone."

Special information can't get through, but addresses can. Jiang Qie transforms into the wish-granting goddess Jiang and generously offers, "What regrets do you have? I'll help you make up for them."

The other person doesn't refuse. He immediately types into the notes app: "If it's convenient, please go to Class 1, Grade 12, Ningcheng No. 1 High School before 6 a.m. on August 10. Tear up the envelope in the desk drawer by the window in the third row. Your payment is tucked into the workbook. Just leave a note telling me exactly what happened, and the me from twenty years ago will believe you."

Jiang Qie: You want me to travel 800 kilometers, get up at five in the morning, sneak into a school, all just to tear up a love letter for you? Your workbook had better have gold tucked inside it.

Chen Yunqing's perspective

In his senior year of high school, someone put a paper-folded rose in Chen Yunqing's desk drawer. They left a note saying they'd done him a huge favor. As payment, he had to keep the flower safe for two years.

One-line blurb: My sister-in-law was my girlfriend at first, and later became my wife.

A side note:

1. I'm indecisive, so I finally decided to use one blurb for a while.

2. It'll probably be around 110,000 to 140,000 Chinese characters, so it won't be especially long.

3. I can update daily when work isn't busy. Most of the time, updates will be every other day. I'll update as usual whether or not the story is on a ranking list. If I'm forced into overtime by my slave-driving boss, I'll mention it in the blurb.

Theme: A fine steed knows its road ahead is long, and doesn't wait for the whip to spur itself on.
