Lin Fusheng is the greatest swordsman of the age. He loves to wear bright red, and he's fearless, spirited, and so flamboyant and carefree that he hardly seems like a righteous cultivator.
And yet, this man is the leader of the righteous path. He has a compassionate and perceptive heart, and treats others with fairness, kindness, and integrity.
As a youth, he became famous throughout the world with a single sword strike that cleaved the towering barrier between heaven and earth. Everyone knows his name.
Just as everyone remembers his boastful words from the summit of Sunfall Mountain: "I gaze across all creation, and I alone shine bright."
The greatest mystery in the cultivation world today is what path this immortal lord actually cultivates.
A man so noble and radiant, yet so free and carefree, seems suited to any path.
Any path, that is, except the Heartless Path, which demands the severing of all love and emotion. Not only has no one cultivated it in a century, but this immortal lord hardly seems devoid of love and feeling.
Only fifteen years old, Lin Fusheng kneels before the sword shadow of the sect's founding patriarch. He lowers his eyes and declares solemnly, "I will cultivate the Heartless Path."
I love all people, with boundless love. Even the heartless can have a heart.
Yan Yuzhi, Lin Fusheng's closest friend, is the first to learn that he is cultivating the Heartless Path.
Though he is the leader of all demons and ghosts, he is praised by the world as a modest gentleman and a warm, jade-like lord.
So even after learning that the friend he has secretly loved for so long is cultivating the Heartless Path, he only smiles gently and says, "That's wonderful."
He's always known that a man like Lin Fusheng sees the people of the world. He watches over everyone, but he will never look at just one person.
But no one knows that he has gone mad, fought back, and even destroyed the world.
Lin Fusheng certainly doesn't know that, among countless illusory dreams and cycles of reincarnation, this is the happiest ending Yan Yuzhi has found.
Once, his master asked whether he would rather be a carefree wandering cultivator or a sect leader in a position of power, responsible for the whole world.
He didn't choose. He only said, "I want both, and I can do both."
A dream of Nanke must end in awakening; life is but a dream. His master shook his head, named him "Fusheng," and told him that no one can have everything in life.
A hundred years later, he proves that he can, and faces one choice after another once more.
"How can there be a way to have it all? But I'll insist on having it all anyway."
A seemingly modest gentleman who's actually a possessive, meek, and tearful dragon gong × A seemingly warm, exuberant, free-spirited person who's actually full of boundless love and unbreakable strength, shou
Basically, I want to write a different kind of Heartless Path. Not the cold and emotionless kind, but something more attuned to the human condition, treating all things in the world equally.
A few important notes:
* Updates every other day for now, at midnight. I'll post a notice if I need to take a break.
* The worldbuilding is entirely my own, so please don't overthink it~
* The gong really is a crybaby, but he only cries in front of the shou. Both leads are strong!
* I'm sensitive, but open to suggestions. Just please don't curse at me QAQ.
