How an Alternate-Dimension System Survives in Teyvat [Genshin Impact]

On the continent of Teyvat, there is a legend known across all seven nations:

If fate brings you together, you may encounter a mysterious merchant wandering the world. You can make a wish to the merchant, who will offer you an item that can grant it. The price he asks might be just a meal, or it could cost you your life.

The Traveler has heard this legend many times. Some say the merchant is an ancient monster who has lived for thousands of years; others say he is just a young lad. Some claim it's nothing but a story made up to fool children.

Yet when the Traveler asks a number of their friends, each has a different opinion.

A certain winery owner with a catlike face says bluntly, "He's just some guy who loves butting in. Hmph, next time I'll have some Slime wine ready for him."

The finest bard in all the world smiles brightly. "Oh my, he's quite a remarkable person. Would you like to hear a poem with him as the hero?"

The yaksha adeptus at Wangshu Inn ponders. "That merchant... has a rather capricious personality, but his wares are truly top-notch, with a wonderful flavor."

A leisurely guest consultant who likes strolling and birdwatching says, "He has rules of his own, and he once signed a contract with me. Those wondrous wares of his have been a great help on many occasions."

The fox shrine maiden of the Grand Narukami Shrine smiles knowingly. "He's such a mischievous little fellow. The novels from a certain website that he provides are still hugely popular."

The head of the Yashiro Commission smiles. "His milk tea is delicious, and his amazing work robots are so convenient."

One day, the fishing Traveler reels someone in from the river again. The silver-haired, blue-eyed youth in front of them pulls something from his bag and asks in a cheerful tone:

"...Dear hero, tell me, did you drop this gold ore, or this silver ore?"

079 is a wandering System with a higher-dimensional shop that requires no exchange currency.

After traveling through countless worlds, its one and only wish is to become human. So the Main System dumps it on the continent of Teyvat, leaving it to learn and explore for itself.

Abandoned, 079 can only carry its shop on its back as it wanders through this vibrant world.

So, it pulls out a personality-reversal card, a time-jump card, water from the River of Women, a lovesickness flower that can fight Whopperflowers...

All right, then. Who will be the next person to come looking to trade with me?

A few things to note:

1. The characters may be out of character at times, so please bear with me.

2. There will be characters getting picked on. If that bothers you, this story isn't for you.

3. Not everyone will be brought back from the dead!
